Influencers and Hermes

Did no one on this thread read all those articles about the rep ladies over on reddit? Any chance the fakebirkinslayer could be a member there? That he/she/they know who has bought what from whom by reading the reveal threads? I guess I’m cynical, but when you have to wonder why inventory is so low and you’ve got a “pre-spend” of $23K and nothing to show for it, yet some influencer is revealing Mini Kellys, Birkins etc. well.... when your SA is in Guangzhou, you can get anything you want.
I would guess at least half of these youtubers and influencers are fronting with fakes.
All these excuses people make for them is cray. Oh her husband is really rich, she has to sell a bag to buy another bag, her home store is in a good location, her daddy is a big shot. Really? You’re 28 and spending $80K a year at (just) Hermes? C’mon.
Think about how many bags Hermes actually produces in a year and then factor in the real collectors - the ones you’ve never heard of, then people like Jamie Chua, Victoria Beckham (if she still buys), that Kelly someone who had the divorce drama, actual celebrities, actual uber wealthy individuals, all the ladies and gents here... how many bags are left? Yet every influencer has one. Or two, or has been offered one already twice this year.
It’s just not real life. Period.
No one is denying that many influencers buy fakes. But to say they revealed this info in some forum the FBS was a participant of seems a bit of a reach to me. Most likely he can tell the obvious fakes and just guesses the others. You are giving him too much credit.

And I talk about him as a ‘he’ because their Insta has an air of misogyny to me. Just my gut feeling.

This is why to me the whole thing reeks witch hunting or even bullying more than a sincere intention to do good (educating public, exposing fakes, etc).
100% this.

TFBS definitely plays up the witch hunt and purposefully stays ambiguous with flippant remarks saying they’re not actually accusing people of having fakes, rather asking a question for the person to elaborate and engage in dialogue. Talk about stirring the pot.

Then the drama-loving followers get a kick out of swarming to the profile in question and blasting the comments with incendiary comments. Most of the accounts then go private or get deleted.

I’m left to wonder if the person in question actually reflects who it buying/owning fakes lol… 99% inclined to say they don’t. Someone who repeatedly supports reps is not likely to change and suddenly save up for the authentic counterpart when they can get their validation/high from a $200 knockoff.

They’ll likely learn to not post closeups of their bags or purchase better reps.

It absolutely has a very "Salem Witch Trials" feel to it.... I've stopped following the TFBS account. Initially it was kind of entertaining, informative - and I enjoy a little gossip now and then. But with the mob mentality happening now, just not a fan.

Agree 100% :)

I don't follow any particular influencers anymore, I follow the content or go with my mood.

I've recently tried looking at vids to see certain scarves I'm interested in IRL, time and motion. The point being to see the scarf folded and worn. But guess what? Numerous unboxing and first impressions with no folding, tying or playing.

I mean, what's the point!!! So you bought a scarf? 10 min zooming the camera in and out is not content, I can get that from my SA and loop.

Makes me very suspicious that these people have no intention of keeping, coz they're certainly not folding, trying on and wearing.

I’m finding it harder and harder to take this brand seriously based on these so called influencers who have been getting bag offers in the last couple years or buying them elsewhere. Just scrolling through sm feeds I see the following persons with birkins or kellys - someone who looks like she’s a call girl getting a highly desirable picnic, a woman who admits to being on only fans (you may have seen her with her pasty), multiple resellers who flex their bags (faubourg, Himalayan, etc) and pretend to live the high life with photo shoots in cliche locations, the wife of a slumlord, and so many others who have shopping addictions and can’t stop shopping the brand. The clientele has changed a lot since the pandemic. And not in a good way. Brand protection seems nonexistent. Image doesn’t seem to matter. Is H really exclusive anymore? The shopping experience has declined with so much competition and all the stupid games. Brands like Patek and Rolex care about resellers. Patek even interviews you to determine whether you’re actually worthy of wearing their watch. With Hermes it is a free for all. Play the game by spending enough, resell the prespend along the way, and you still get a bag. Even my nail lady is buying Hermes bags and flexing on IG. She has a stack of cartier bangles and vca too. Go figure.

Has anyone seen Adelaine Morin’s recent TikTok video? I find it a little hard to believe that she was offered a SO at Paris FSH with no spend history.
Oooooh I have a story about an ex-friend who faked getting a SO offer. Not saying this is what Adelaine did. Just a side story!

This was 3-4 years ago. Ex-friend used to shop at the same H in the USA as me. I introduced her to my SA when she expressed interest in H. We would go in together once in a while. She always shared on social media that she was at the boutique, tons of orange boxes, the works.

Lo and behold, a few months in, she posted the “just ordered my own special Birkin” in front of the box of swatches on Insta. Videos of her holding up different swatches and all that. Asking “which color” and “which size”. Oooh.

I had brought it up casually (ok I admit I was being nosy and was lowkey envious that she got an offer waaaay before me) to our shared SA saying ex-friend was super stoked for her SO. Turns out she didn’t get offered anything - she had asked the SA if she could see the swatch box to “learn more about colors” and “draw inspiration” for her future wishlist. SA and I both made a pact to never bring it up again lol. How crazy is that.

Once again, not saying that’s what Adelaine did but lord, Hermès does bring out some wacky, crazy behavior.

I see this influencer over and over again on my discover pages. According to her recent story, she won’t share her boutique success outside of her Paris shenanigans now that she’s “famous” and getting recognized. Ma’am please, my dog had more followers than you when he was alive and on IG.

Which one of you is gonna shell out that $27 and share the wealth with the rest of us

OMG! I see her stuff all the time and I am thinking of blocking her! She is insufferable
