Thank you for sharing this -- wow this was actually a really good video. I love Jerusha - she is real and she pushes my perspective. I think it is interesting Lydia went from fast fashion, to designer, to know the sour dough housewife thing trending amongst young people on social media. To me it is becoming more and more disingenuous. I agree with Jerusha that this was not a good way to soft launch her own handbag collab. Unboxing a MK right before selling all her bags - this type of back and forth influencers keep doing is too much. This is why I have spoken out against influencers selling entire collections constantly. It is not normal or healthy consumer habits that they are encouraging.
One thing I strongly disagree with was Jerusha's points on crime. I get what Jerusha is saying about fear mongering but the crime reality is real and influencers should be using their platforms to make people aware. Influencers are at significantly higher risk of being targeted because people know who they are, know where their bags are in their house, etc. We have witnessed SO many influencers in the last few months get robbed. Jerusha claims crime has always been this high, she is not right about this. Obviously it depends on where you live, but many of us have cold hard data to prove that thefts have gone up significantly in our hometowns. Life is very different for those of is who live in cities with high levels of gun violence. I don't really think it is Jerusha's place to make comments about crime and I think it is poor advice to tell her viewers not to worry about crime. Many of us don't need an influencer to tell us to be scared, we are scared because we know MANY people personally impacted in our real lives.
