I was about to say this. That’s no fresh unboxing paper. That’s been used and used.

Although the ribbon says 2025 and LE DESSIN SOUS TOUTES SES COUTURES MEILLEURS VŒUX

So at least that part is new. But she could have gotten the ribbon on any package.

Why make up such a story though? Ok I don't want to admit that I paid £25000 for a bag but even so... Why post on IG about it? Perhaps they are selling something, like they are thinking ahead about reselling it sort of thing.
I guess as an influencer you need to build that messaging that you have access to exclusive offers etc. Even without looking at the paper lining, I was surprised by the whole narrative /believability that one can walk into a store in Paris and get a Birkin these days, especially as a tourist.

I think in part she’s doing it bc she’s going to be promoting her own bags. I guess she really shouldn’t be wearing anyone else’s.

But one of the things I find annoying with these kinds of “getting rid of luxury videos”, although she doesn’t explicitly say this in the video, is the implication that designer goods are just so materialistic and it’s better to appreciate experiences. Wearing and using luxuriously made items is an experience too is it not? Not everyone buys designer goods to bolster their identity.

I just started watching her channel. I started with the mini Lindy video and then the bolide reveal video. I do like her candor and screen presence! but I think maybe me watching the back to back videos about her liking but not loving the bags and potentially not wanting to keep the bags, was probably not the best sampling of her content. It made me question why she would take home bags she wasn’t sure about. I get the excitement of being offered a bag and going with the momentum but I hope she falls in love with both those bags and decides to keep them.
She had good content back in the day but then she started shopping h as a boutique client and things just went downhill. I got the impression that she spends beyond what she’s comfortable with. She’s noted having to sell bags to buy h bags. I think she got too wrapped up in the h competition not really thinking about what she really likes versus what others think she’s supposed to like. The constant change of minds was giving me whiplash.

It’s like that Australian YouTuber who constantly buys and sells bags or this person who posted about mental health. It gives me the impression there’s a lot more going on here that we don’t see whether it’s addiction, emotional instability, boredom etc.

in the beginning watching luxury YouTubers was entertaining but after
Watching these people month after month and now year after year continuing to consume and consume and sell it just gets very old. I get a lot of it has to do with wanting to earn money off the channel but there’s def something else beyond that. Also when they promote low or mid tier brands and note how much they love these items it makes me question the validity of anything else they say. Would they really buy these items if they weren’t offered for free and paid to do the promotion given their interest in status luxury brands?

And today with world events esp in America it just gives cringe vibes. Sure they do this as an escape but the world is changing. Many luxury brands are crashing. Prices have gotten too high. Brands too greedy. The ultra wealthy are having their let them eat cake moments.

The fashion industry as a whole and their uber wealthy clientele walking around with bag charms in their hair and dressed head to toe in a brand while people are suffering or dying is not just cringe but absolutely tone deaf.

This came up in my feed and it made me laugh. Just goes to show how fake some of these people are. This is not a private VIP room. This is the room they do the tailoring for the made to measure clothing at FSH! You can even see the mannequins and cuff styles in the background ! I have been to this room several times lol. It is definitely not a VIP room.

Back to the topic of influencers saying they got things from the store but didn’t….

What do you guys think of this one? Anyone see what I see?

Ok. Thank you for posting this. I follow her because I think her fashion sense is really interesting but I was super confused with the crumpled paper. I was also confused because didn’t she JUST get the b30 in Paris?

Is it possible she left the box behind because she was traveling home so she “unboxed” it for instance in an old box? I guess there’s really no reason to do that either. Disappointing that everything just seems faked these days.

This is interesting. I used to watch Lydia but her content became so unrealistic I stopped. So she’s selling her bags because what she loves is gardening and horseback riding? Is she still going to wear the $2000 dresses while gardening? That turned me off more than the Hermes bags tbh.

Edited: OT question

Only she could answer that. But why not just say she left the box in Paris and just open a dust bag?

But also, I don’t think she has a b25 in her collection before so where did she get the box from?

I agree with you that everyone and everything seems so fake.
