Influencers and Hermes

I think that’s part of the reason for “prespend” and long wait as well. You can’t really make much of a profit with high prespend ratios and long waits.

Interesting comment about the old existing customers though. Do you think they’re not taking care of them? Just curious.
I hope you don't mind me replying as I know you did not address the question to me but yes. I do see many long-time, loyal, genuine customers no longer being taken care of. Across Asia and including at FSH, these include my own friends and acquaintances.

This is a sad turn of events. Hermes should seriously rethink their approach here.

I completely agree. I understand trying to attract a new generation of customers. I will not comment on their strategy regarding influencers but alienating old customers is not something I would expect from a brand who is so proud of their long history, heritage, after sales service and features videos on their website of eg Kellys which have been passed down generations. It's not exactly a good fit with the current direction.

Of course I don’t mind, we’re all just here sharing our experiences. I’m new myself to the brand so I wouldn’t know the difference. I’m sorry to hear about you and your friends’ experience. If you don’t mind sharing, I’d love to hear your story.

While I can’t comment on Hermes specifically, I can lament I’ve had similar experience with other companies regarding the lack of appreciation for being a long established customer. I guess at the end of the day it’s business and economics under it all. I think only small mom and pop companies truly value their loyal base. Once they grow to a certain size, shareholders, stock value, bottom line is all that truly matters.

I suppose it’s similar to our own friendships in life, people change and values will differ as time goes on. Some relationship continues on and evolve while others we may choose to part ways.

Look forward to hearing your thoughts!

Oh I don't actually have any issues myself. My stores have treated me very well. The other stories are not mine to tell, but I am disappointed for my friends who have been loyal Hermes customers for years, some even longer than me.

I'm now obsessed with thefakebirkinslayer's IG stories  latest big one..is Chiara Ferragni has a paid, sponsored post of a Birkin given to her, which is fake. Numerous people supposedly reached out to her team to let them know..no replies and the posts remained

Ok kind of tech challenged but is it just in the stories? I don’t see any posts. I’m wondering if I’m on the right account. Also, does that mean the people he mentions in the stories are using fakes? Some are just screen shots of people and their MK2

It's just in stories, yes. You can hold your finger down on the story to read if you need longer. There are some people on there he/she has posted that are real collectors and some are fakes..it's in the descriptions.

I also don’t know 99% of the influencers thefakebirkinslayer posts about, they seem to be people with large followings who get very few likes so I guess in Insta world that means you bought your followers??!!
Does any of this surprise us?
Influencers have no influence on me whatsoever. Their show & tell is taken with a grain of salt
& sad for those that get taken in & are not as free thinking as many of us
are & should be
They are just "teasers" on a public platform, dangling that Hermes carat right under our noses, JMO
