I have definitely had snobby comments made at the store. When the bag straps first came out I stopped by the store. My SA just moved to another city so I did not work with anyone specific. I had flip flops, white t shirt and jeans on. I asked about the straps and the random SA I approached said: we are going to get only five in. So YOU (looking me up and down) are definitely not getting one.
This story could have been good for overheard at H if it wasn’t from years ago.
I still agree that it is suspicious that one person gets horrible treatment over and over again.

Wow! Sorry that happened to you. I don’t get how they (H) act like one person’s money is better over another’s. Because right now their brand is being mainly seen on wanna be influencers doing for likes online. These SA’s are paid employees who are taking it upon themselves to dole out heavily priced items to whoever they deem worthy. In reality, I would imagine, the average customer who can’t get a bag, probably works harder than the average influencer. IMHO

OnlyMod, I'm sorry that happened to you.

At best it is awful communication, at worse it is discriminatory or highly judgmental. I've always been treated very well in the stores but I recognize there is a pattern of poor reviews at many H stores.

Perhaps people are on edge and sensitive about their interactions in the store because there is something 'intimidating' about luxury stores.. but I think it would be incredibly naive of us to think that there are no jerk SAs with biases (everyone is human).

It is hard for me to ever fully believe influencers though because the more exaggerated a story is the more views they get, so they're incentivized to lie, but I do believe her (or at least that this was her perception of what happened). Her story is more in line with those who leave negative reviews. There are so many other ways that SA could have politely said the belt will not work for her body type.

I watched another video of her's where she elaborated on her experience in the boutique (starts about 6:45 in link below). She was offended when the SA asked her to take a picture of his business card when he ran out. Apparently this struck her the wrong way as she was spending thousands and that he should have written his number down for her. (Kind of blown out of proportion IMO.) She seems to be going in with certain expectations that may not be reasonable or in-line with the H experience, possibly thinking she deserves better treatment. And it's possible that SAs are picking up on that and may treat her in kind.

While I do think her stories seem horrible, something seems off. Her titling in the original video "Maybe I am the Problem" might indeed speak more to the truth (and maybe some self-actualization it really is her :hrmm:)

Thanks for sharing, wow. Agree with everything you wrote..... This was actually pretty cringe to watch.

Agree. I find her hard to believe. It’s not that I don’t believe she was treated poorly but I do think she embellished on the story. I have never in my life heard Sas say “what do you want” and she said that several times in one video I watched. They might have said what do you need or has someone helped you? I have had a couple of not so great experiences myself at H but her stories are a bit much. Sa’s can be cold and uninterested and snobby. They can also be thoughtless but a countless number of times? I did scroll back in her video feed and noticed that she’s shaved her head a couple times? It doesn’t appear it like a physical health issue so makes you wonder about whether there are other issues going on. To take clippers and literally shave your head is like a Britney Spears moment. Just my opinion.

Definitely agree with you on all points here. I think there’s more going on and more to these stories. We’ve all encountered some level of what she’s describing over the years when it comes to H and other luxury shopping; however, there does appear to be a lot of embellishment and a level of victim/entitlement complex here with her. I showed her video to hubby without context and he had the exact same thoughts.

To your point, I don’t buy the “what do you want” narrative either. I think the current climate is ripe for people to start “coming forward” with grievances and mistreatment stories - these sure seem to garner the clicks / views / whatever these influencers are after.

Also, I would way rather NOT have a business card floating around as clutter at the bottom of my bag, so I don’t understand the issue with exchanging info digitally I guess.

I appreciate the transparency, but dang

Yeesh... I couldn't watch 26 full minutes (or really even one full minute,) but based on the preview... Noir B25 Sellier GHW? Yes?

I mean.

The bag is beautiful. I’m glad she enjoys all the small bits and pieces she’s bought along the way, but just at $60,000, she could have bought it resale for less than that I guess. It just feels like they “nickeled and dimed” her for 2 years.

HERMES Epsom Birkin Sellier 25 Black | FASHIONPHILE
The $60k that she quoted includes the price of the Birkin itself, a Constance, Picotin, and Herbag. So like a 3:1 pre-spend for a B25 Sellier, which is reasonable IMO. When I said "rough", I just meant a long journey since she started shopping in 2021.

Just did the quick math and got the same thing - around 30k in "pre-spend" categories. Am I delusional for thinking even the 3x spend for a normal leather qb shouldn't be normalized (esp your first one)? 🙈 I know it is the direction H has been going but it's crazy to me how casually she says it (no hate to her, i love her page). i would have gotten annoyed and just gone to a reseller. I get her leather items probably delayed the quota offer, but I do feel like after a certain point someone's shown their 'loyalty'. There's another youtuber I follow who just started shopping in SF and got two nice offers at much lower ratios. Sigh.
