I wear a cheap band to Disney.

I NEED to get mine insured. . . I don't know why we've been so lax about it :s
People lose theirs at home often, it's not just for when you travel.

Aren't you afraid that you might just hit it the wrong way and chip or crack the stone? You NEED to send in your appraisal to your agent and have it added to your valuables schedule NOW:yes:

One of Dh's coworker lost his ring during his honeymoon. He was able to get the money back and get another one because he had it insured.

Have you guys seen the commercial when the guy is gonna proposed and the ring goes down the trash dissposal in the sink? it could happend to anyone.

I knoww... I have been meaning to look into insurance but we're just too darn lazy. :push: I'm so afraid of it going down the drain!

Yes, get your jewels insured ASAP. You never know what can happen.

AND as for that dumb girl who made the stupid comments, PLEASE don't listen to that jealous hag. Wear your ring with pride! You are loved by a wonderful man who gave you a wonderful token of his committment to you. She is obviously green with envy! (and has zero class)

I think that woman is full of :hs:....you know that if she had your ring she would not only wear it everyday, but have it stuck in everyones face all day long reminding everyone that she has it. I bet it is BEAUTIFUL!! Did you post a pic of it!!

It all stems from jealousy. I was in a similar situation & felt weird for wearing it for a few weeks. 2 of DH's good friends are female & are both married. Once we got engaged apparantly one of them started asking my DH flat out how much he paid, how he went about picking it out, why he let me pick it out, did I decide on the ct weight etc etc etc. She has a beautiful ring but I guess she feels like ...... her exact words were "I can't compete". The other one had the largest looking ring until DH got me mine (her's in larger in ct but for some reason mine looks larger). Well at a recent get together, she asked if she could see the ring so I showed her my hand. She she slipped the ring off my hand then placed it right next to hers. I was a little stunned that she did this & then she went on to compare the sz, color, and to see if she could see any flaws. It was just really tacky & I felt sorry for her. I told DH about how uncomfortable it made me feel. He was a little pissed because he felt that she tactfully did it when he was not around. (he would have told her WTF!) I wear mine all the time now because as he assured me who gives a care what anyone says!

What a JERK! Envy is a serious monster sometimes.

I either wear my wedding set, or a stack of bands, or nothing at all. And I don't think Ive been afraid so much of wearing it out for theft reasons, moreso for fear of damage to it.

I have to say that I wear my engagement ring, wedding ring and my eternity ring all the time. My engagement ring is not very big (all we could afford 11 years ago) but my eternity ring is 'substantial' (not as big as lots of other peoples rings on tpf but big enough for me).

This colleague just sounds envious to me! Not jealous in a nasty way but maybe justifying to herself why she hasn't got a ring that big.
