Umm... okay, so I need everyone's opinion on this.

My husband and I were visiting my friend at his work, and his coworker came over and admired my engagement ring. She proceeded to ask a few (slightly nosey) questions, like how much was it, how big is it, was it payed off or did we put it on credit, etc. She even asked my husband how does it feel to spend that much on a ring

Then she goes, "I would never wear a ring like that everyday. I'd be too afraid. Definitely don't wear that walking around at night."

So my paranoid, gullible self starts getting ideas... Personally, and not to sound ungrateful because I'm not, I don't think my ring (2 carats) is that large or over the top or anything to just keep it in storage. I want to wear it everyday, and now this lady's comments just have me worried that someone's going to chop my finger off!

Ladies, do you wear your e-rings everyday or just keep it for special occasions? My stepmom has a pretty large ring and she only wears it to parties.. so I'm wondering if it's appropriate for me to wear my ring everyday. If it helps, I'm still in school and don't work yet.

Congrats on your ring!

Honestly, if you want to wear it every day, then wear it and enjoy it (but be sure it's insured!). No sense spending all that money on something just to sit in a safe!

My mom is a nurse and doesn't wear her engagement ring except for special occasions - for her, diamonds and prongs didn't seem practical at work. But if YOU are comfortable wearing your ring, then do so - and IGNORE the jealous comments.

that girl has ZERO tact. . . total diarrhea of the mouth:sick:
I wear mine everyday, everywhere, including the gym. It's a 3.67 solitaire. I've never had comments like that before.

ITA. He bought it for you to wear. Don't be scared to wear it! I wear mine everywhere!

It's not unusual to get comments or drama from people once you get engaged. Just chalk this up to envy and jealousy - don't let it bother you. I wouldn't answer questions on the size or cost - just say you don't know - it will help you avoid awkward questioning.

shes jealous sweety. dont sweat her!! if YOU want to wear it everyday then do so!! i usually do, exceptions being if im going camping or doing something harsh on my hards or that will get my hands really filthy. my MIL NEVER wears any of her rings. but i mean, its $120,000 so i dont blame her. lol, shes only wore it once that ive seen!

If I were you, I'd wear it proudly. :) Your husband spent the money to buy you a gorgeous ring to WEAR not stick in a box. I agree with the other reply's...she's just jealous.

If I'm in a "iffy" place at night..I'd just flip it w/ the diamond facing my palm. :)

That's exactly what I plan to do, lol!

Thanks for the support, ladies  I feel much better.

Exactly what I do too, especially when I get "weird" customers at work :s
She was just a jealous little bi*** :boxing:

I really want to get my ring insured, just in case. Did any of you ladies insured your rings?

I haven't but I might?? I usually don't wear it when I'm going on vacation and such. That goes for all my expensive jewelery. When DF and I go to Disney World later this year, I'm going to slap on one of my good quality CZs because if I loose it, I don't care. I don't want to go bare handed, because I want to show I'm taken. LOL. Keeps the boys away. LMAO!! :roflmfao::roflmfao:

I wear a cheap band to Disney.

I NEED to get mine insured. . . I don't know why we've been so lax about it :s
People lose theirs at home often, it's not just for when you travel.

True, my Mom lost her fav. ring doing the dishes! Eeek! I guess I'm a bit more relaxed because I have rings scattered around. One in the bathroom on the little table (not near any drains, even if it falls), one on the computer desk (not near any vents!), and one on my night stand (not near any vents). Other than that, I just wear my ring if its not in my ring holder or in my jewelry box.
