Hi everyone,

For those who have the Diamonds by the Yard necklaces in sterling silver, how would you recommend cleaning the tarnish off of them? I've been wearing mine for about a month straight (only taking them off when showering, applying sunscreen/perfume) and noticed that the silver around the diamond has started to tarnish, but the chain is fine.

I often use the hot water with baking soda in a bowl with tin toil technique with my silver pieces with positive results, but I'm worried the hot water might damage the diamond. Would love to know what you guys think and suggest.

Many thanks, and happy weekend to you all!!
I put my DBY platinum studs and necklace in an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner (can buy on Amazon for $40-50) with a drop of Dawn, but I also put David Yurman sterling pieces with diamonds in and they all come out looking great.

Just wanted to post my Amapola brooch - haven’t seen it on TPF at all!

It’s my first brooch purchase as I can’t imagine reaching for brooches often, but I love the minimalist, structured, mirrored stem juxtaposed with the supple red silk petals.

Indeed, it’s so elegantly minimalistic - it looks fabulous on you.

I don’t know when you plan to order, but if you want, I can take photos of both of my hand so you can see for reference. I am on the road now traveling, but I will be home Feb 11.

You can also order both versions and try them home to be sure.
If you are in between sizes, order the larger size and Tiffany can size it down. Given the choice, it is better to size down (only one solder) vs. size up (two solders). Sometimes you don't have a choice though.

Good luck! Please post photos if you wish! I love seeing mod shots of the cabochon ring. It's such a clean, yet striking design!

ETA: All this talk of the cabochon ring, I need to wear mine more often. I am going to make it a point to wear my turquoise this summer!
Finally found a jade version. I think this may be the smaller one though? I thought it was larger, but it looks regular sized on my hand (size 5.5 ring here)

Hi! Glad you bought one! Yes, I think that's the smaller 15mm size. The 19mm is 26% bigger.
Did the SA confirm this was 15mm? You can also check by the two diffeent prices.
If you prefer the larger one, have the SA order the 19mm and you can try on both to compare.

By the way, when I bought my first turquoise ring, I was so excited to find it, I didn't really think about the size. It was the smaller 15mm one. However, I felt the same as you said... it just looked like a normal ring... it did not pop like a gumball!

Then I got the 19mm and wow... what a huge difference.
For me, since I bought the 19mm, I no longer wear the 15mm because of exactly what you said... I feel the 15mm was just regular size ring and I wanted a statement ring.

I would ask your SA to order the 19mm to compare both sizes if you are not 100% thrilled with the 15mm.

I love this cabochon style ring! It's like a huge fun gumball!

I dug up some old photos to show you the 19mm.
Here is how the 19mm looks on my size 6.5 finger. My finger is larger than yours, yet look at the ring width and coverage of the 19mm on my finger. The width is definitely larger than your ring, and your finger is smaller than mine at 5.5. I definitely think yours is a 15mm.

The 19mm is like a giant jumbo gumball which I totally love!
I think you can definitely wear the 19mm.

The other photos show the 15mm and 19m side by side. You can see in the top view, that extra 4mm width (26% larger) makes a big difference.

Looking now at these photos, I do think your SA ordered you the 15mm instead of the 19mm (check the price $4,900 vs. $6,300).

Hope this helps.

Wow - love those photos, thank you for posting. That turquoise is really special. I'm so torn, the smaller size I feel like I would wear everyday- but the larger one has more of a dressy WOW factor. I'll have to think on it! Love this design though, such a modern classic.
My thoughts for what it's worth...

The design is so simple it can be a bit "plain" to me which is how I feel about the 15mm. Even before I got the 19mm, I always felt 'is this it?" when I wore the 15mm.

Because it is such a simple and clean (e.g. plain) design, I like the larger 19mm size for nice pop of color. As I mentioned earlier, I never wear the 15mm anymore. It just sits in my jewelry tray. I was going to get rid of it, but my husband thought I was nuts since he knew how hard it was to find. Hence, I was pressured by him to keep it!:annoyed:

Jewelry is all preference of course, and you may love the 15mm.
For peace of mind... I would definitely order the 19mm and try on both to see which you prefer.

Good luck!

I ended up feeling the same. The smaller size was beautiful, but not exactly what I was looking for right now. I think the bigger is more my speed.

Hello everyone,

I’m a new member but I have been looking through the Tiffany forum for a bit now. I have a little collection of Tiffany pieces and I’m always on the look out for vintage pieces to buy. I really like Elsa peretti designs and I recently came across some ear cuffs but I don’t have a lot of details about them. I believe they are called waging war cuffs and I think they are from the 70s. Does anyone have any information about them? Here I attached a picture of them. I would love to learn more about them before I buy them.IMG_0136.jpeg

No info, but wanted to say Welcome to the forum, and please do post your pieces when you have a chance. Elsa Peretti has some beautiful designs and these older Tiffany pieces are great to see. Looking forward to learning more about these ear cuffs from others who may know about them.

Hi all, haven’t posted in TPF for a while… Elsa Peretti is absolutely my favorite jewelry designer and I have gathered quite a collection over the years. I’d love to see some of the other vintage and rare pieces that other collector’s have. Does anyone know of any sites outside of TPF where collectors are sharing this info, or any knowledge of an archive with photos and information on pieces? Thanks!
