I'm too embarrassed to take this out in public, think they can repair it?

Well, I don't mind silver, as long as ALL Of the pieces turn silver. The three-toned gold is drving me nuts..it looks so cheap, you know?

Yep, I have the same thing going on with my pochettes. But, another problem that I'm also starting to see is the canvas that attaches to the D-ring (loops around the straight side of the D-ring) is starting to tear slightly at each end. Don't think that's fixable without a huge cost of replacing that entire strip of canvas that extends around the bottom of the pochette. Bummer quality.

Damn that sucks :(
I had a look at my pochette made in '03 and the hardware is still gold with a tiiiny bit of silver showing on the inside of the D ring where the hardware bits rub.
I don't think that sort of wear is acceptable for a bag less than 2 years old :(

I would definitely think that bag is older than two years! My older Cerises pochette from 2004 doesn't look like that and I use it daily as a cosmetic bag so I'm always taking it in and out of my purse.

You should take it in to LV and complain. And show them how much the hardware has tarnished and how they all look so different. They might choose to fix it for free --it's worth a shot!! But they might also say it's normal "wear and tear".

It's definitely making me think twice about buying a new pochette though if the quality has gone down so much!

same thing happened to my sarah wallet....

i don't even use it anymore, because the silver makes it feel fake, even though i definitely brought it real.

:(

i'm very sorry for you, i know how it feels....

please update if you get hardware replaced, i'd like to know how it turns out.

Oh no!! Your Speedy b??? I've been carrying mine every day for the past week, I will be so upset if it starts to look like this.

I mean, I can deal with it on a pochette, but I would not be able to handle a bag that looked like this..yuck!

I'm going to take it to see if they will replace the brass, but then I think I'm going to buy a cosmetic case to replace it. I hate to even take it in to them, I had to go a few times several months ago because my new wallet fell apart..they reglazed it, it fell apart again within days, so they gave me a new one and it fell apart within days! They finally gave me another, and it's perfect! But really, I felt like a jerk about it..lol. The last time I didn't even want a new one, I was just going to keep the messed up one, but the SA insisted on replacing it. So now I"m afraid that they're going to think I'm taking advantage by bringing in yet another damaged item..lol.

I understand how you feel. I hate to complain, but LV is very expensive and should hold up much better than that. I think the new hardware is cheaper than the hardware on the older bags. I have a Delightful MM that I bought a year ago and it has a clasp that hooks to a d-ring at the top of the bag to close it and I noticed several months ago that it was turning silver. We pay alot of money to carry a real LV and it's upsetting when the quality of a real LV would cause someone to think we are carrying a fake. I would absolutely take it in and ask if it can be fixed.

This is good to know as I was seriously thinking about the Sarah wallet as my last LV purchase. And after reading trumanfinn's post I was thinking about how the other brass fares especially if you need to press on it multiple times...

I really think that it's mostly the brass that we touch that turns color. I sent my Delightful to my mom to try out, I'll have to check the little clasp to see if it has turned silver. I should probably look over all my bags, but really, I don't want to see! lol

My pouchette from 2005 is also ripping near the D ring. The zipper is flaking too! Let us know what they tell you. I know mine is probably age and am considering purchasing a new one.

I've had my sarah wallet since 2006 and the brass is fine, no colour change. fingers crossed ;)

I bought my mini pochette last year and the ring has faded to silver. I was shocked as I just didn't expect that with LV. I still carry it as I don't think anyone will look closely enough to notice, but I'm not happy. I'm wondering whether to take it to the store or not, but chances are they won't do anything about it.
