I'm so upset! I lost the diamond out of my ring!

My hands have been a little swollen lately and I ran them under water to help get my wedding band and engagement ring off. I put them on a towel to dry off and when I went back to get them, the diamond was off. I am so upset over this, it's all I can think about!
We have searched everywhere. My husband took the drain apart with no luck. I've had this ring for 22 years and I just feel sick about it.
Well, thanks for letting me vent! Wish me some stoke of luck that it shows up miraculously.

I lost a 25 point stone out of a ring last year... i lost it between putting it on and walking to my front door. and never found it. Still think its in the rug somewhere.

cost me $250.00 to replace it. Argh!

Thank you all for understanding how awful I feel. I honestly don't think we'll find it. We were going to get an upgrade soon but I was planning on keeping this one also. My husband saved through college for this ring, it is an 1.67 ct marquise solitare. Not gigantic but it took a lot of saving for him. So you can understand how special it was to me. And no, we didn't even think about insure back then.

1.67 is a large stone to me (I'm in college right now, so I can imagine all the hard work your hubby took to save that kind of money!)

I really do hope you find it, even if you can afford an upgrade, the meaning behind that diamond, your husband's devotion to you in saving it is far more important imo.

On the bright side, you still have your wonderful husband, and he is a bigger symbol of your love than the diamond!
