So far it hasn't scratched, though I've only carried it since last Thursday. The wristlet is slightly cracking/peeling around the top to reveal a flesh tone, though it's very slight. I don't think the hobo will have as much of the same problem since there aren't as many folded over edges.

You know me - I'm a sucker for metallics and I'm a weirdo, but I really like the silver/brown combo (IRL, it's much more pewter/muted than *bling bling* silver).
I would probably go with the satchel (biased since I have the Chelsea metallic satchel which aside from the shape is very similar to these satchels). Actually, if you're near an outlet, see if they have those - you could save some $.
That's the one thing I'd caution you about with metallic bags - they almost always turn up at the outlets (they're don't seem to be as popular as other styles), so personally, I'd probably wait a few months and try to save $.
