My husband gave me my engagement ring and I bought his band. I don't think chivalry is dead at all. You do what you want. If it was 1955 it would be a different story, but women have come a long way since the days when the groom buys both rings, shoes had to match a purse and wearing white after Labor Day was a sin...it's personal choice and Missy chose to buy her fiance's band.

Congrats... But an 11pm church service? Huh?

And I wouldn't buy a ring for a guy -- if you're getting the kind of engagement ring I'd want (sorry, guess I'm a size queen!), most jewelers give them to you for free (I'm not a fan of many designers -- I prefer jewelers you know personally). I'd sooner get my fiance an Omega or something else nice.

I don't think everyone's problem is with her buying the guy's wedding band . . . It's probably the frustration people have from the OP's other threads, so she's being called on everything because she's just had so many other um, discrepancies in her other stories. The OP has a history of starting threads, responding when people have positive comments, then disappearing when people start asking questions. Do a search for other threads she's started if you're curious.

Sorry to hijack- just wanted to explain some of the comments that seem hostile without the background info.

No it wasn't an 11pm church service. The service has been at 7pm and was over around 8. We then left church to go to his friends house and on the way back to my house, aroun 11pm, we stopped back by the church.


Nope, chivalry is not dead, if any man in this world is chivalrus (or however you spell that) it my DF. He was originally gonna buy both of them, in fact he planned on it the night we went and tried on e rings, but I decided I wanted to buy it. I guess cause it would make it more real in my head, I;m still walking around like "huh? I'm engaged!!!'

Okkkkkkkkkk.....so what is the deal with all of your other weird threads then that you have started and then not finished or gave off the wall, contradictory, and/or bizarre answers to :confused1:
