all the girls at my HS had these bags in the 90's...they have this heavenly new leather smell that's unique to them. lasts a long time, and i recall mostly crossbody styles in the past.

I was cleaning up my closet this week and found a bunch of my Il Bisonte bags. I must have at least 5. I came across a wallet in my basement but I can't remember what I did with it. I still use the nubuck backpack on occasion but most of them are small and I carry bigger bags these days. I think mine are from the 90's too, maybe earlier? I'm not sure.

I love walking past their store in florence!! it has a great wild west theme! i would love to have one of their travel bags. the vacchetta leather wears so nicely with age. i really am a big fan of il bisonte and other smaller lesser known florentine boutiques with amazingly simplistic leathers. I'll take clean and classic any day!

Il Bisonte is my favourite make but very dissapointed with finished quality of two Sunset black bags with glue marks on interior canvas, frayed stitches where rivet inserted into handle guide, loose end stitch in canvas. I cannot return it a second time as i bought the last black one - so petite and gorgeous and sturdy otherwise. The online team confirm it met quality standards but for almost 600 us dollars it shouldnt be so messy. Atypical quality. Disapppointed they only have congac left. They are the best quality generally.

I'm really satisfied with my last online purchase by Il Bisonte, their products get better and better with age!.. my father still have a backpack bought in the 90s, so beautiful!! now they're online with pics, lots of info and on social network as well.. I saw someone was asking for the estore page and some photos, here is everything http://shop.ilbisonte.com/uk/ ! Have a good day!

Il Bisonte uses the best Italian vegetable tanned leathers. Their styles are classic yes...but what better time to carry a beautiful quality and timelessly styled handbag? I have loved their products for years...and as others have said, it is not a highly marketed product...but once you have been exposed to the leather (it always, always, always smells delightful), it's hard to go back to mass produced sub standard leather quality. (and that goes from some of the higher end bags too - just because it's a fancy name, doesn't necessarily mean you are getting top notch leather)

IMG_3199.JPG Can anyone identify this il bisonte bag. Tag says desinged by Wanny Di Filippo- Geniune Leather (Made in Italy). I am trying to find the name of this style.

The Il Bisonte boutique is still on Sullivan Street in SoHo. I agree with you ladies, the website does these gorgeous bags with the suple cowhide no justice at all. While the designs don't have alot of fancy hardware or bling the italian leather is to die for. The colors are gorgeous and all take on a beautiful patina; and when I walk into my closet the smell of the leather (over all of my other high end designer bags) screams out as if they were brand new. (and they are several years old) Their line includes everything from small clutches to oversized handbags.. Even though I live by my blackberry, I refuse to go to work or a meeting without my Il Bisonte agenda that I have been using for years, and it gets better everyday. Definately a line to consider if there is a boutique in your area. (they will also email you pictures if you call them)

Queen of Bags,

I'm curious about their Insider agenda, is that what you have (pic below)? I'm curious to know how it's aged.

Sorry, I know this is a really old thread.
