Ignored at Cartier!

I've had some bad experiences at lux stores but Cartier by far has been the WORST ever (at the Ala Moana store in Hawaii). My BFF had the same horrible horendous treatment there too. I no longer visit the store...and it kills me because I really covet a love bracelet!

If you go to the one on the street with hotels, I think Kuhio (I don't live there), look for a Bob. He is the sweetest guy ever.

I always used to feel awkward going into the lux stores, because I never feel comfortable with all the silence when I'm in the store to look & not to purchase...but I took the plunge at Cartier last summer & wound up looking around and chatting with a SUPER sweet SA at the Ala Moana store.

She let me try on anything that caught my eye & was really friendly the whole time. I wound up not getting any jewelry, but did get a twisty pen for my purse (can't do anything with caps, i lose them!)

I don't know if she's still there, but if you ever decide to go back, ask for Denise... I think her last name starts with a Y (i will double check)... really nice local japanese lady with an elementary age daughter.

I went into Cartier once on a dare with myself and was ignored (I am used to this though - uni student) but I was happy to just browse around and when I had a question about some earrings an SA politely answered me.

Ultimately, who cares?? I hate to be grovelled all over anyway and as long as when I have some money to burn I can buy the thing I want, that is all that matters to me.

Did you ask for help? IMO, you can't just stand there and wait for someone to help you, because you'll just wait indefinitely. I'd just go up to someone and say, "Excuse me, I need some assistance." If they're snotty after that, say, "I'm sorry, but I don't need the attitude. Is your manager here?"

We went into Cartier on Friday and some lady looked up and said, "Hiiiiiii" obviously not caring one bit that we wanted help; I walked to the back of the store and approached 2 SAs that were just standing there and said, "Excuse me, I need help with the Love bracelets." They were very nice and attentive and helpful.

You have to ask for what you want. Unfortunately, customer service isn't always what it should be.

I actually asked to be helped. I was told to "wait one moment"..after the SA that promised help left, I made eye contact without another male SA and he pretended to ignore me!
I wasnt all dressed up, but looked neat and even had my LV in hand..I saw the SA look at my handbag and when i caught him looking, thats when he pretended to ignore me..after 20 minutes of cat and mouse I walked out steaming.. oh well

I think this depends on location.

I've actually gotten ignored more at Tiffanys than Cartier.

As for Cartier, I go to the Palo Alto one, and they are always extra nice, but we did get ignored at the SF store...needless to say, we got my ring at the PA store.

I just ask for the manager. Then I ask why I stood there waiting to purchase goods and was not served by salespeople. Then, I ask if they want my business or not. Then they usually are *really* nice to me.

i find it irritating especially when they have already made judgement when you first walk in the door, i had some occasions where i just walk in and they look at you up and down (im guessing theyre thinking if im going to buy or not), once they make that choice...they decide to assist you or not...which i find rather odd..they should be greeting everyone regardless of how they dress, what lux brand theyre wearing, how old they look ...etc... especially when youre young...im 25 and they look at me as if i cant afford to buy anything...and im sure other ppl in their 20's have been treated this way... arrgh :cursing:

tiffanys really? i went a week ago with my dad and some lady actually asked us if we wanted her to get an SA to help us. and the SA was really helpful :).

i just dont understand in general why SA's sometimes ignore cutomers regardless of the store. sometimes im even ignored at abercrombie..which is ridiculous. lol because they work in retail...getting paid 10$ an hour. they cant afford to give attitude to customers who are willing to buy ex. a 300$ watch.
