If you had $4000AUD ($2700USD) to spend, what piece would you pick?

I think the onthego is pretty with reverse mono

I would pick the Onthego pm is is such a cool and fun looking bag.

It was much cuter than I expected when I tried it on! Love that you can use it with a longer strap unlike the Small Dior Book Tote, but also not nearly as intricate looking as the Book Tote for a very similar price. Can't think it through :panic: It is a very useful shape tho

For LV: the side trunk or coussin. I like the trunk’s reference to the brands history. The coussin I used to not be a fan but it looks much better worn in person.

For non-LV: Gucci Jackie. I love that understated casual elegance. I’m biased because it’s also on my wishlist lol

If you want to wear an under the radar bag, buy the Loewe. The puzzle fits a lot, is beautiful quality and is easy to use. And it's crossbody, which is a plus for me.

If you want a unique bag, buy the Side Trunk. I was looking at the OntheGo pm in the boutique a few weeks ago. It's so cute and it's still on my list. But when the SA brought out the Side Trunk, I fell in love. The craftsmanship on this bag is amazing. I love the hardware and the canvas is soft. It fits a ton and can be hand held, worn on the shoulder or cross body. It's a stunning bag. Since this is a new piece for LV I'm not sure if it's a limited edition or if it will be around for awhile. It's the most expensive of the two: $3800 USD compared to the OntheGo which is $3100 USD.

I had the Coussin but returned it because the pockets were too slim and didn't fit what I needed to carry, like sunglasses.
I do have the Loewe Puzzle bag, a Fendi Peekaboo and a Lady Dior. The Fendi & Dior are substantially more money and I don't take my Fendi or Dior out in bad weather as they are more delicate. The Side Trunk is pre-treated so it can be in the rain.

Let us know what you decide!

Side trunk gets my vote. Iconic trunk style and is a WOW bag in person. It also has a zip top closure like the Loewe puzzle bag you love, so that aspect of the style is similar. Zip top bag is also my first choice for ease of use and protection. Everyone that has that bag seems to adore it. YSL makes some beautiful bags too that you may want to check out.

I would not purchase anything. At least, not yet.

Based on the myriad choices, it reads to me that you may need more time to think. There is certainly nothing wrong with that.

I know it’s not exciting, but I argue it’s better than potential remorse.
I was going to say the same thing. If you are contemplating SO many bags, that means no one in particular really speaks to you. So I think it's better to hold on to the money and wait until there's something you REALLY want.

$2700 is not too much to spend on a bag, but also not a small amount of money either.

I'm leaning towards the Side Trunk or the Loop Hobo! Loved the shape of these two since they were revealed, and both are so special. I don't have anything like the Hobo, and the casual style would work well for my lifestyle. The Side Trunk has elements of the trunks that I've always wanted and definitely has that Puzzle bag vibe, initially always thought I would end up with a Petite Malle but it's so small and specific in its use. I was waiting for the Side Trunk to come out in the reverse monogram so I wouldn't have to deal with all the leather/makes it a bit more casual. But if it's pre-treated that's much better! Thanks so much for all your in depth responses, it has been very helpful

Haha, you guys are right! Already been sitting on the decision for a while and letting it save up. I was always thinking of something from Louis Vuitton, but then just suddenly thought, 'There's a lot more beautiful bags/brands to choose from why not have a look?' (Bad idea for the most indecisive person on earth )

How about this?
Do you want a work bag or a causal bag?
What capacity do you need (what do you NEED to fit inside realistically)?
What style are you looking for (more formal or more relaxed)?
Which colors do you prefer?
What do you already have in your collection so you don't repeat something?

Then I think it's time to go shopping. Try on everything in person (fun of shopping), then narrow it down to 3. But then again, you don't need to spend it right away if you don't feel like you're walking away with a MUST-Have handbag. Check out YouTube reviews on wear and tear and styling tips. See if you can envision owning one.

I know if I am eager to spend ~$3000, I know what I want. But I also want it when I travel so I can get it duty free. This year I'm being extra stingy because rather than building, I'm trying to narrow down my collection and free up closet space.

Have fun!
