If you had $3500 to spend what designer bag(s) would you buy?!

Extremely late update, I know :-). I was at Chanel and found a beautiful seasonal flap but I could psychically not manage to spend so much on a single bag so ended up purchasing the Y-Yen wallet and a small zippy wallet instead plus went for a Mulberry Bayswater and the rest of the money I squandered on boots and days out etc. No regrets, thanks so much everyone for your suggestions!
I think you spent the funds on a nice mix of goods and experiences. Sounds like you love everything you got! Will you post a group photo (including boots, as I love boots!) please?

Congratulations, I have always loved Mulberry bags. They are understated, a great price point when you compare to other designers, and great leather. A bayswater will always remain current and definitely a bag for years to come. It sounds like you managed to make the money stretch in your favour with some very wise purchases. Enjoy !

Aw, thanks so much. Yes, I'm still very happy with my choices. There are occasional moments when I think perhaps I should have gotten that Chanel or Hermes bag when I had the chance but all by all I've had so much use out of the Bayswater and still love it. I totally agree with you on the Mulberry leather and style. Saving up for a Lily now!;-)

Chanel! I've learned my lesson oh too well. When I first could afford designer handbags after college 15 years ago, I was anti Chanel because I thought that the style was "old." My mother and grandma had been wearing them for years.
I bought seasonal items from Gucci, Marc Jacobs and Prada. Haha I was on the waiting list for 7 months to get the Dior Girlie bag which I wore about 5 times cause the light pink canvas easily got stained. All those bags have basically no resale value today, which is not the case for the Chanels.

I think I have about 30 handbags and the only ones that have held their value is my LV Speedy and my LV Neverfull...maybe my two Balenciaga Bags. I will admit I like what I like and I don't buy to resell anything. I do wear a lot of my older bags still. It does feel good though knowing that I bought a bag 10 years ago for XX amount of dollars that cost double what I paid for now.

Chanel back then was about $1000... well just a month ago, I bit the bullet and bought a Chanel Boy which was over $5k with taxes. It's not a classic style but it's a Chanel and I do feel this will be a classic.

I still like more non traditional looking bags but I'm eyeing a Chanel Jumbo Classic before the end of the year. I bit the bug but I won't regret this purchase since it will be a classic.. hopefully no price increases til I finally buy my black Chanel Caviar with gold hardware

Great choice you made there! I would only spend that much on a bag, if you have a collection that you can rotate wearing; what I find is that some buyers assume the bag should be indestructible if it's expensive, and that's not always the case. Should the purchase be meant for a workhorse bag, sometimes there would be regret later regarding its lifespan.
