2. Chanel Wallet on a Chain- triples as wallet, evening bag and when just don't need a lot.
3. Chanel Jumbo flap, for days when you don't need Neverfull and Woc is not quite enough.
4. This is the tough one, I think a second tote- maybe Goyard St. Louis or lv Neverfull in different size or pattern.

My response a year ago while very logical has changed. Now I would say.
1. Chanel woc- still need an evening and on the go light trAvel bag. (Own)
2. Hermes Kelly (want)
3. Hermes bolide (want)
4. Chanel jumbo (have)

This list isn't as practical as my first but I have suddenly been bitten by the hermes bug. I am sure my list will change again in time. That is part of the fun.

* Hermès Lindy 26 - Black
* Hermès Garden Party 30 - Cassis
* Hermès Picotin 18 Lock - Rouge Garance
* Chanel Rectangle Mini - Fuchsia

Little black clutch (mine is Dior)

I could survive on just these 4 bags. Of course, I have a few more in my collection but this would be bare bones if I had to.

Mine list is almost exactly the same as yours, but instead of the clutch, I'd have a
Chanel reissue. :cool:

Hi catsinthebag - as you noticed, we're very similar! I have a solution for your color problem. Here's what I would do but I live in LA and you live in Boston so I'm not sure if that would make a differnce.

For the kelly, I chose gold. It's a great all around color and goes with everything. One could probably also go with etoupe or etain here. Classy and elegant.
For the Evelyne, I have a strong color that also mixes well with my whole wardrobe. A bold neutral is how I think of Tosca. This makes the Evelyne a little more fun and casual. Rubis or anenome are also good choices.
Garden party - same thinking regarding a bold neutral. I would choose a fun blue. Blue sapphire, Colbert, blue Izmir, blue electric.
Chanel reissue is a no brainer - black. Your evening bag and sometimes day bag for those dressier outfits.

Hi MYH! Well, I have the Chanel in black, so no issues there! ;) My Evie is Blue Sapphire and I love it -- kind of a color that for my warddrobe, goes with almost everything.
The climate here has been really tough lately (I am looking at piles of snow that may not fully melt until June), and I am so jealous of you in LA. But this winter has made me rediscover the beauty and usefulness of the Longchamp Le Pliage -- waterproof, lightweight and zips shut to keep the snow out! My Kellys are waiting for warmer, drier weather -- right now, using them just isn't in the cards, regardless of color ... sigh...

I love this question and read everyone's answers! If I only owned four bags, they all have to be classic!

1. Chanel classic flap black caviar M/L in gold hardware.
2. Hermes Kelly in a bright color.
3. Balenciaga City black RH
4. Louis Vuitton Speedy 25 Empreinte Aurore

How fun to consider!

I think I'd choose:

-Chanel Woc in black
-Hermes Kelly in a neutral color
-Prada Saffiano tote not sure what color
-LV Alma bb in a fun bright orange or pink

I don't think I could ever really stick to four though, maybe I could do 5.
