There is a photo of this particular bag in the Vuitton [bible] "Louis Vuitton City Bags, A Natural History", with the date of 1980. This is where I found this information. LV frequently takes names of older bags and applies them to newer models, which is in this case. The Houston bag you are referring to is the one from about 15-20 years ago, crafted of Vernis leather. Since you have paperwork ("check'' and "packing"??) perhaps a visit to the boutique can shed more light on this piece.

Hello!

I'm wondering if any of you more knowledgable than I can help identify this Louis Vuitton bag I bought 5 years ago. I've completely forgotten the name, for some reason I remember the sales associate calling it the "Balmain" bag. But that doesn't yield any good google search results, and it's entirely possible I misheard.

I'm looking for the name so that I can list it for sale.
