You know more than I then, I really don't know anything about that line.
Based on my spotty, non-researched, hearsay-based understanding (how's that for a weasel disclaimer?), even before Bal bags hit it big with the moto line of bags, Balenciaga subsisted for some years on licenses to a few producers around the world. Main one was in Spain. They made more modestly priced bags for a very long time, until the moto bags hit it big and really raised the profile of Bal bags.

17 years ago when I first started collecting, these licensed bags could easily be had for $10-$75 a pop. They stayed low priced for a while. Only in my resumed active Bal collecting last year did I notice that these licensed bags had skyrocketed in price. I'm guessing riding the success of the Bal brand generally. They frequently have a cloth label, with the double B logo (which real Balenciaga seems to have recently coopted as well, lol). They don't have the same Balenciaga leather tags, and don't say that they're made in Italy. If they're made in Italy, I would think they're from the real Balenciaga. If made in Spain or some other place, I think they're made by a licensee.

Great info, thanks!

Is there a way to identify colour or at least year from only the leather tag? Hopefully than I won't need to bother you so much then. I only not how to reference colour on the silver tag with a letter to reference year which is okay for some models, but not for day or twiggy which don't have this. Thanks

Colour codes started in 2010 from what I’ve seen. If you look at the last S in PARIS on the tag front it will either be curvy like a regular S (2010 or earlier) or somewhat squared off looking (2011 or newer). MADE IN ITALY changed to upper case in 2011 as well. But of course there are exceptions just to make things more interesting. Oh and the season letter started on the tag back F/W 2012, K tag.
