Veronika, thanks for the information. I didn't know that Josephine of thehuangfamily allowed layaways...and considering some of the steals I've found on eBay, I guess you're right in that the purchase prices would even out after awhile.

She just e-mailed me and said she'd accept $400 with shipping included. What do you guys think I should do?

I found a CB address book in brand new condition on ebay about a year and a half ago for $180.00. I eventually resold it for $300.00. My point: wait it out and look on ebay every day. Carnet's come up alot - but the cheap ones get snatched up RIGHT away.
