I have several nice watches. The one that is the most wearable everyday, but still stylish is my Breitling.

wow they have a gorgeous website! I don't do well with all kinds of extra gadgets on a watchface - it is somewhat overstimulating to me - I guess which is why I have always wanted a Movado - one stone, two hands and there you have it! lol

My everyday watch is Bulova. It's silver with gold. My first one lasted for 10 years. I'm on my second one now. I am NOT very nice to my watches. They get banged around and must be water resistant. I have 2 girls under 5 so a watch must withstand them too.

My mom got me a bulova watch which was gold and silver in college and it lasted me years and years!!! I want something a bit different now though...

I second the Rolex steel watch if you're gonna wear it everyday.

I also suggest the Tag Heuer watch...
Less $$$ than the Rolex but soooo durable.
I've worn mine for 6 years and doesn't have a single scratch!!

My dad is a rolex conessieur (sp?) so those remind me of him lol. I just saw a Tag Heuer watch at costco that kind of caught my eye...but then I saw this on amazon.com - I'm thinking the white might be a bit too trendy though and I will tire of it in a year or two - what do you think?

My other favorite item to collect besides handbags. Cartier Tank is a must have I think. It holds it's value and you can wear it day or night. I've gotten a great deal of compliments with mine. I bought the mid size instead of the ladies size. I also have the Hermes H-OUR with a yellow band. Great with casual outfits. I think I have the Raymond Weil that Kat has, it has a leather band with diamonds around the face. My very first expensive watch was the TAG and it's still working and it's about 12 years old, certainly got my $$ worth. I have a few others like a Gucci, Burberry and Hugo Boss. What is so dear to me though is my 1959 vintage rolex -- it was given to me by my husband who is the biggest enabler.

I think watches are very much a personal choice. I mean, you have to look at it a few times a day so you better like it. I don't think costs really matter, it could be $20 or $5000 as long as it keeps good time and works with your outfits!

lol i love watches but i never wear them... but i love the way chopard's watches look. I esp like these two... the loose diamonds inside will probalby be annoying to some people lol but its very whimsical and cute to me!:love:

Also know that with both Rolex and Tag you can negotiate the prices no matter where you go... Some places more than others.

With Tags expecially I negotiated mine back in Boston from $2600 to $1500

With Rolex you can negotiate down 20%

Not sure of your budget but another vote for Cartier Tank (Française), the chic perennial classic you can never go wrong with this at work or play; epitome of casual elegance and all the yummy mummies have it too :amuse:

omega constellation. It will wear forever, waterproof, slim profile so you won't hit it on everything and it still looks dressy enough to wear all the time. Much lighter on the wrist than a rolex.

Such great watch suggestions! This suggestion isn't as classic as the others, but if you're looking for a simple, casual watch I've always had good luck with Skagen. They're relatively cheap, so you don't have to worry about losing/damaging it, comfortable, and sleek-looking.

really?? I had no idea! I told a few of my friends that I was in the market for a nice watch and she told me she 'knows a jewelry broker' so maybe I can see what I can do. So far my three favorites are Chopard and Ebel and Omega. I don't know how much I want to spend - but I'd rather invest the money on a good quality item than waste money on something cheap that won't last years.

Which jeweler is this in Boston? I would like to know because I would visit Boston Just to get 20% Off Rolex. Best NYC would do is 13%.
