I used to like Marc Jacobs... what the hell happened to that brand? :thinkin:

I used to like monograms bags, until I realized how much negative attention I received.

I used to like shoulder bags until I developed shoulder and neck problems.

I used to like cycling my bags (buying/selling) until I found designs that really worked for me.

My sentiments exactly

Love this thread!

I used to like stalking my local TJ Maxx and Marschalls for new bag arrivals. Until I discovered TPF and the premier designers. Now I stalk on-line consignment sites and ebay.

I used to like chanel classic flaps, until the same bag went up double in price in just few years and are now made with lesser quality :(
I used to baby the handbag (like rotate the sides so it'll tan evenly when I'm stuck in traffic lol), until I noticed I reach for bags w/more signs of use because I don't have to worry about it too much.
I used to chase after the 'IT' bag, so much so that SA will call me to get the latest news instead of corporate meetings. Until I start noticing the decline in quality, so now it's more about vintage-one-of-a-kind type of purchase.

I still look after and enjoy putting outfits together based on the handbag, but now as OCD about keeping it pristine as before.

I used to love Juicy Couture, until I realized a bag made out the same material as a sweatshirt is just kind of weird, and that big bow gets caught in everything.

I used to love Vera Bradley, until I was out of college and didn't need a school bag anymore.

I used to love Michael Kors, until I used that bag as a carry-on for the worst flight ever, so now I'm convinced the brand is cursed for me.

I used to love Coach, until I realized I am a bag snob, and didn't appreciate being asked if my bag was "actually real."

I used to love Louis Vuitton, until I realized that I am quite fickle and change my mind and style frequently, so one or two premier bags just doesn't fit for me.

I used to like fabric bags...until I realized how dirty they get.

I used to like exotic bags...until I realized that they are mad expensive and high maintenance and now I prefer leather bags. Although I just love snakeskin and stingray, they are really expensive materials.

I used to never care for bags until I brought my first Disney Dooney and Bourke bag at the California Disney theme park and suddenly became bag obsessed and googled bags from different designers all day

I used to really like Disney Dooney and Bourke bags until I met Samantha thavasa Japanese Disney bags

I used to really like all Disney related bags until I met LV :smile1: - I don't know if that is a good thing or not --> so dangerous for the wallet!!!! :p

This is my first time posting on purse forum! I just joined today. I have been reading people's posts on purse forum the last few months and that's how I got into LV!

I used to like keeping my wallet and keys and my coat pocket and never bothered even looking at handbags until my now ex-boyfriend asked me to just get one so i'd stop losing my keys and wallet (falls out of my coat pocket..haha) and then the bags never ended.

I used to like only buying bags under $100 and say that I can never understand why anyone would pay over $100 for handbags, let alone over $1000, until I got my first $500 bag and realized the quality difference is insane. However, anything after $500 the quality difference doesn't always vary significantly - it really depends on the bag.

I also used to like buying bags based on the design and price that i like, and now i realize that i buy too many bags and must factor in resale value. Buying brands and designs that i can easily let go of allows me to clean out my closet and make room for new things and cycle through designs for best practicality. For example, i used to really like Kate Spade, until i realized the resale value for her bags are terrible.

I used to like fabric bags, until I realized I love leather so much more (leather addict)

Same! I used to love canvas/non-leather bags and didn't get why people would pay so much for leather until I tried an MBMJ hillier. And now I prefer leather over any other material!

I used to like MK until I noticed all their copycat designs that looked very similar to premier designer brands ie. LV
And RM too - I think she recently pushed out something that looks like the Chanel Boy. But I feel like most contemporary brands do this...not all, but many.

I used to love Michael Kors, until I used that bag as a carry-on for the worst flight ever, so now I'm convinced the brand is cursed for me..
I've been considering getting a saffiano for an airplane purse. Why is it the worst ever?
