Oh wow, thanks! I remember that old thread. I still have those "basic bags" and still use them. The older Coach leather really is bullet-proof. And there's plenty of them walking around out there. Only a few months ago, at daughter's orthodontist, I saw a woman carrying a black "basic bag" exactly like the one I had rehabbed. They really *don't* go out of style.

(If only I looked as good as you do actually carrying one. ;) )

The older leather really is so amazing - and there are some really amazing deals out there on vintage bags!

Lovely bag, and you wear it well!

Beautiful bag and a great rehab job, congratulations!

You did a beautiful job, and it looks fabulous on you! Love your style!

Great job! Restoring can be so much fun.

Thank you - it really was a fun project - and it made the bag seem more "mine" if that makes sense!

That looks great!!!

Side note- 16 yrs is officially vintage?? I still have my very first Coach bag from 2000. I had no idea it is vintage yet, lol!

Yeah...2000 does NOT seem that long ago! I've read different things about the term Vintage - and about whether things from 10-20 years ago count or not! It's hard to say ;-)

I have quite a few older Coach bags that are absolutely pristine, including 2 Willis bags. I'm really thinking about carrying them again. The leather in those bags is absolutely wonderful! I'm seeing more and more ladies with older Coach bags and they are beautiful. Honestly, you don't find that quality leather in many of today's bags.

I've always loved the Willis bag. She looks great. I still have my first Coach duffle bag which I brought in 98. Will be checking out your blog and the TPF threads so I can breathe some life back into her.
