I realized I have not bought a Coach in over a year - anyone else and why?

I used to be a regular on this forum. Bought about 6 bags per year. Then slowly stopped with Legacy and then even more so with SV. I liked the Puce Swagger which appears sold out but not enough to pay $500 for it. I bought and returned a couple bags from FOS realizing I just did not want them that much. I am looking forward to the Rose Metallic Swagger but my luck it will never get made or only in small size or large. Any other long timers just given up? I have moved to MK, Burberry and am planning an LV purchase. I wish Coach would bring back something similar to the Madison style bags I loved and in medium size.

I have left and came back to Coach many times for burberry and LV too, just not MK.

In 2013, I bought a ton of bags, mostly Legacy. I've slowed down a lot. I have only bought one bag at FP this year - Snoopy. I also got two mini duffles at the outlet. That's all. I have concerns about the quality of some of the new stuff and the higher prices, but mostly, there is nothing I have to have.

I don't have a lot of other brands. I'm happy with my Henri Bendel bags, my MK from several years ago, the Longchamps I got last year, and the RK I got this year.

I'm not actively looking for another bag as I don't need any more. I'm relieved that there isn't much temptation.

I completely understand. I love my Legacy bags... I like some of the newer bags, but nothing has thrilled me as much as Legacy. As a matter of fact, I got a Coral Scout for my anniversary recently and only wore it for 3 days... then I switched to my Deep Port Legacy Duffle, and it put a big smile on my face. I thought: 'what is wrong with me? I just got this brand new handbag and my older one makes me happier...' Specifically, I was looking at the hardware comparison while using my Scout-- and I'm sorry to say there is none. I'm not as partial to Light Gold as I am to Legacy Brass.

Btw, I love your golden retriever puppy!

The only Coach bags I've been buying lately are new-to-me from eBay. I bought the periwinkle Swagger from my local FP store back in the Spring. Other than buying my daughter a mini - Crosby for a graduation gift, that's the last new Coach bag I've bought. I bought some of the Peanuts line, but just accessories. For the most part, I'm not a fan of Vevers. I dislike the shortcuts being taken more than I dislike the bags themselves. I miss the gorgeous leather and contrasting linings.
I have branched out as well. No MK yet, but that might change. Some of the new bags are sooooooft, and I'm a sucker for smooth, soft leather lately.
As for future (new ) Coach purchases, I'm waiting for the fall bags , and I'm wondering what Coach will do for their upcoming 75th anniversary. I hope it's something spectacular.

I am not crazy about the limited selection of Coach over the last year or so, but I just prefer Coach overall. I have yet to see a MK or Kate Spade bag I even reasonably like, so there is not temptation there (I have also checked out the other brands people mention and they just don't appeal to me). So, I buy a bag very occasionally, and am waiting for the right bag from Coach to come along.

I haven't bought a bag in over a year as well. I haven't been able to get into new lines by SV. They are beautiful bags, but either they remind me of something I already have and love or I don't like them. I have bought some accessories, like watches, a coat, etc, but even they are usually things I found at the outlets on FOS/online sale.

I actually have bought a few... most recently snoopy items and a Classic Madison satchel... I run hot/cold with Coach.. sometimes finding nothing, other times finding something that suits me.

I do have MK & LC and more... but since Coach was my first designer brand, i do believe i will always have something by them at some point. Frankly, the cost of the other brands is only going higher.. i have a limit to which i feel comfortable investing in purses.

Like you, I love the Madison styles and all of purses (except for one) are from the Madison collections.

I have not bought a Coach purse in two years because I simply do not like the look of most of the styles. I also have not liked the quality or feel of the leather.

Having said that, yesterday I bought an Edie 28 because the size of the purse is exactly what I love. However, I am going to see if the shoulder straps are long enough for me.

I wish Coach would get it right: the Edie 28 is the perfect size for me but the straps are not as long as they should be. There is usually always something wrong with a purse that prevents me from loving it enough to buy it.

My last new Coach bags were my black and my light blue small Dakotahs almost a year ago.

Since then I've been finding some of my favorite Kristins and Madisons that I missed out on in 2011 and some Legacy 2012 pieces. My last brand new bags before SV were probably my FP Phoebes, though I found many of those nwt on ebay as well.

I haven't moved on to another brand -- I still have a few LVs and other premium bags from 2006-08. I have around 30 bags, I don't really need any more.

I am a Coach gal all the way! I do not like all they make but there is always something I like.

Me too! The "problem" with me is having to wait for sale and not having enough cash to buy all the bags I want. I bought MK and Kate Spade and sold them quickly and never found any other styles that I like. I have a Gucci and a Ferragamo bag, but I love Coach bags as much and i am more willing to spend on Coach.

The last Coach I bought was a tote in the winter floral pattern this past winter. I've definitely been more conscious of my spending and how much "stuff" I have which has slowed my handbag purchases for sure. Later this year I'm planning to reduce my collection to only my most loved pieces so it takes up less space. I wouldn't say I've moved on to other brands though, I'm definitely still a Coach girl at heart. I'm holding out for the 75th anniversary, I hope they do something awesome like the last big anniversary collection, I don't have any of those bags but I have admired them on ebay many times ;-).
