Happy to say that I was able to purchase CeeJay’s ‘05 Dolma City! I sold my own Dolma City this past winter because I outgrew the distressed leather and hoped to find one that was more smooth and in better condition.. I think this one was meant to be mine, given that the quality is listed as “almost new”, and how seldom I even see a Dolma City pop up! I admittedly wanted the Pistachio one too, but I’m very happy that another PF member ended up with it haha

This is too funny, because I was between snagging the Dolma or the Pistachio, but chose Pistachio as that was the one I truly wanted the most! I'm trying to show some restraint, because CeeJay also had some beautiful blues and pinks in her collection. The Bal rainbow is delightfully tempting.

Congrats on your score! I, too, love that all of these bags are finding their way into PF homes. I'm sure she would've wanted nothing more.

Ah, I love this so much! Haha, I’m happy that we both ended up with the ones we really wanted! I remember seeing CeeJay’s comments on the Bal listings on Poshmark, and it was her love for the bags that eventually led me here. I was really sad to hear that she passed away, even if I never spoke with her myself, and am honored to carry this piece on in her memory.

I, like most others on this forum (especially Bal lovers) valued Ceejay's knowledge and I will admit her profile was the only one I would check to see if she posted anything new as she has so many juicy and funny stories in the other non Bal threads! I really miss her presence on TPF.
I understand this AG city was one of her HG bags so I am honored to be getting her and I will will treasure her as Ceejay did

I ended up with the 2010 olive green lambskin. Not chèvre, and I debated for days before pulling the trigger, but in the end I caved because it is a color I will wear often with my preferred wardrobe.
I also got the 03 black with pewter hardware. I always wanted a pewter Bal, and this one, although not my usual purchase of bags in really good condition, will be special to me because it looks as if CeeJay loved it and carried it often.
Still can’t believe she’s gone. She is the one who made me love Bal, when preciously I had no idea what the big deal was!

I am crying so much right now I was never close to CeeJay but she made such an impact on all of us and a big reason why so many of us fell in love with Balenciaga.

I am happy that I saw this thread in time since I didn’t know that her collection was going to be sold now through The Real Deal. I browsed TRD and I picked three items that reminds me of her.

With Swedish duties and taxes the prices will end up 45-50% higher for me but it is worth it. I just have to place my myself on ban island for the rest of the year now….

First, condolences to everyone on the loss of CeeJay. I have never carried Balenciaga (expensive, not a fan of lots of hardware and hanging doodads on my purses), but I do remember when she passed last year. Anyhow, I carried Coach for decades, lately it has been the soft tabby hobo, and while I like leather and the size, I decided to try something different. I picked up CeeJay's 2008 Black Cherry City, which arrived today, and this is one beautiful bag. Love, love, love the leather and the color, size is perfect, and handles and strap make more sense than on the tabby hobo. So pleased to be able to share this special memory of a special lady. Already changed out from my Coach, and ready to go once I clip the tag.

Yes the rogue pod and the bag charm are adorable ^^ I love it too ~ I don’t live in the US so may take some time before I receive CeeJay’s little beauties ….hopefully the bags can be shipped safely to me without any hiccups along the way haha ^^ I’ve never tried caribou leather or the 3rd season arena moto leather before hence I purchased those…I only have a 2002 s/s chocolate flat brass nappa … but I found that the flat brass bags with the longer shoulder strap to be perfect for me for wearing crossbody (I’m just under 5feet1) … and the size of the first bal bag also suits me the best .…… I’ve always wanted a few more flat brass bal bags with long straps so that I can rotate them all as crossbody bags because I love crossbody bags the most … I just can’t wait to get my new bags from the Bal Queen so all my cutie flat brass bags can be rotated for daily use ^^ trying to get my hand on those flat brass bal bags have been quite difficult for me … like on Vestiaire collective a lot of times when I tried to purchase one when it popped up, the seller just cancelled the order randomly after I made my purchase… it drove me nuts -.- I’m sooo glad I can purchase CeeJay’s bal bags from a fantastic consignment store RealDealCollection~!

I am so curious - what were the prices? I have been trying to do the VC hunting for years so I definitely know what you mean. It is so frustrating and energy consuming. Actually bought one oldie two days ago, before I knew about CeeJay’s bags on TRDC.

Thank you for posting this, Rose100. (Do read the attachment, folks.) What a beautiful and poignant memory from CeeJay. So glad she shared her hour on the stage of life with us. I have been enjoying her Bal-a-Palooza thread so much. And, this thread is one way to keep her candle glowing for a just little longer.

As @Deco warned, and as I suspected, CeeJay's 2008 Black Cherry is only the beginning for me. This gorgeous deep red color is terrific with my winter wardrobe, but our short summer is almost here and I need a purse in a summer color. I love the provenance of these bags, coming as they do from CeeJay's collection. Today I welcomed her 2006 Origan Chevre City bag home. I was looking for a lighter color bag for the season, but something more interesting than a taupe or a beige. And, I really wanted to see a chevre. I read one poster who said that the 2006 Origan (a light olive green) paired well with many neutrals, so I finally pulled the trigger. She is all loaded up and ready to go tomorrow as soon as I clip the return tag. I have to laugh at how she is just a shade darker than the cushions for my outdoor furniture. I'm sure we are going to get along well.
