This! The pink fendi is stunning! I wouldn't settle for MK and I have nothing against MK. To me, buying a substitute never works and you will want the real deal.

+1

Anytime I've purchased something as a substitute, I've always ended up still wanting the original item. I also usually end up buying the original and the substitute sits there unused or gets sold at a major loss, making the whole ordeal more expensive when I could have just gotten the original.

If you're not sold on spending that much on a color that you don't feel has staying power in your wardrobe, like others have said, maybe get the Fendi in a more classic color that pairs well with pink. Then you could get a pink SLG or keychain/bag bug to add the pop of pink that you love.

I only purchase bags in neutral, classic colors and save the pops of color for SLGs like my red wallet.

Hmm.
This reminds me of a tragic boyfriend story.
When I thought "okay" was good enough to make me happy.
When "some of the stuff I wanted" seemed tolerable enough to plunge right in.

Of course, bags are easier to get rid of & don't steal towels.
So, probably you'll be fine doing whatever you feel best. ;)

Agreed!

Strangely, some of my most expensive bags are bright, unusual colours. Not all of course but sometimes it's just that exact colour. For me falling in love with a particular colour, in that leather and that shape with only that hardware is all part of it. One shade difference and forget it, same with on another bag. It's the combo that counts.

Don't discount the beauty of some of the Coach colors and satchels. You'll save a bundle and have the pretty pop of color without breaking the bank:smile1:

I agree, a certain mix can just scream MINE.

I don't think you'll wear the bag.

Shoot for the ideal pink bag. If you are not ready to buy it, think about it and visualize wearing it until you are ready to buy it. Maybe you'll forget about it.

When you said "hot pink" I thought SDJ. I don't want a hot pink bag, but I would totally use a hot pink SDJ.

A bag in a bright color is going to get more attention, so in some ways it is more important that it be well made.

I just bought a Coach Swagger Carryall after swearing I'd never carry Coach again. Have to say, I'm pretty impressed with it. I say go for it!
Even when you buy the premium bag, the new still wears off and you're left with a bag that you're bored with AND less money.

This exactly, I guess it all boils down to how you would feel about wasting money on a bag that you rarely carry. If money is not an issue then you're golden. If it is an issue then guilt may be your constant companion every time you set eyes on that bag that you so rarely use.

It's a tough dilemma that one should give some serious thought too.

Edited to say: I think there are so many categories of bags and color is one of them. I'm not a huge fan of brightly colored bags which is the sole reason I would never consider spending the big $$$ for one.....but ymmv.

Can someone please clarify what SLG, SDJ, and other popular acronyms on this forum are? (Sorry I'm new here!) PS I adore the Fendi, would not get an MK but maybe a Rebecca minkoff or similar contemporary designer under $500 to experiment with color
