Me too Ame! I don't know I'll wait -he's off for a week so isn't even starting it and I am already missing my ring like crazy!

What are you getting Contessa?

Swanky, I'm thinking of a thin micropave band. One of his bands has my DD's name..........& I love his work.

Btw, I'm glad you posted about Leon preferring solitaires not bathed in halos. I can't help but agree and feel better about not halo'ing mine.

It's nice to hear that coming from someone who's worked with hundreds of stones and settings.

Oddly enough, my jeweller told me a story about how halos were used to try to "enhance" a mediocre diamond. The small encircling diamonds were supposed to make the so-so centre diamond appear more sparkly.

But if you have a brilliant stone cut well to begin with, a halo in my opinion, isn't necessary. A gorgeous diamond can get "lost" in the surroundings.

I told him I didn't want the setting to "compete" and he completely agreed. I think he prefers simple mostly. Although, micropave isn't all that simple  But it's also not a real busy setting, none of his really are though so that's why I think he prefers simple.

I think if you're lucky enough to have a gorgeous stone to begin with (and that applies to anyone here), a setting that showcases its beauty is best.

When I look at a ring, I want to notice the stone first....NOT the setting kwim?

I've had women approach me from across the room at meetings & events telling me how "sparkly" my ring is. So it is noticeable when it's set correctly :D
