I just reported a store selling fakes!

Wow. I walked into an accessory store just last week in a mall down here in Socal and YUCK! An entire wall was dedicated to fakes! Fake LV and fake Coach. Hideous. As my daughter and I were giggling about the fugly bags, the sales woman (possibly owner) came up from behind and said something to the effect of "oh, we just got these in, aren't they nice?" uhhhhhhhh....no.

Glad you reported them. I may do the same!

Ugh, yes, definitely report them! On the Coach website, under Company Information, there's a link to "Reporting Counterfeits". Here's the link:
http://www.coach.com/cservice/counterfeits.aspx

I have no idea if they'll do anything but I guess every report helps. :shrugs:

Just got an email from [email protected]:

"Dear Ms. XXXX,

Thank you for taking the time out to send us the email below. We
appreciate any information provided to help us protect the Coach brand.
Thanks, again.

Regards,
Coach, Inc."

Hopefully they'll be able to do something about the store. I'm sure it's just a drop in the bucket for them but who knows. I'm not sure how they'd go about dealing with it. Maybe send a "cease and desist" letter or something? Anyway, I'll let everyone know if anything else happens.

Edited to add: I like that it was a personalized email, rather than just an anonymous form letter (well, the text was a form letter, but they took the time to put my name in!).

Thanks all! Just reporting it made me feel better. Ugh...I just hate the thought of anyone buying those hideous pieces of &^$@ and thinking they're real. But they're so horrible that I don't know how anyone could be fooled.

I guess if they're so far off that no one could be fooled... and if they're not claiming them to be actual designer bags, then they might just be considered to be "designer inspired" and might not be illegal.... just tacky.

Yeah, "designer inspired" wouldn't be so bad. But these are clear counterfeits, with the fake Coach tags, hangtags and creeds. I wouldn't have any problem with them if they didn't have the Coach name on them. But, unfortunately, I think there are people out there who are naive enough to fall for these, especially if they've never seen real Coach.

Of course, there are also those who just don't care whether they've got a fake (I have an acquaintance who proudly carries her fake Kate Spade from Canal Street and is just as proud of it as if it were the real thing. I totally don't understand it).

Then that is definitely flat-out illegal. How on earth does a store in a mall get away with that?!?!?:wtf:

Ewww! We have a kiosk(sp?) in our HIGH END mall(Fashion Show) selling fakes! I couldn't believe it when I walked past there. Anyway great job for reporting!!!!! I hope they do something about it!
