I just bought my first ever designer bag(s)!

Today my mom noticed my Duffle and remarked that it looks like her $7 patchwork purse! When she asked where I bought it, I told her, and she asked if it was "one of those name brand bags." When I said yes, and no, it wasn't on sale, she asked, "Well, how much was it? 50? 100?" I answered, "Uh, yeah, something." 
Now she wants to go find another $7 one to replace her old one that is, surprise, wearing out. She would absolutely flip if she knew how much designer bags cost. I don't plan on enlightening her.

^ haha. i can TOTALLY relate.
i lie to my mom about the prices ALL the time. i told her my carryall was $75 (really $298), all the accessories like wristlets and skinnies were $10 (not even close!), and that my shoes were $50 (haha, no!). and she freaked out over THOSE prices- imagine if i told her the truth!

Well, from my tone of voice and vague response, she should have been able to tell I was answering tongue-in-cheek, as in "It was at least that much but I'm not telling!"

Okay, I am CRACKING UP over here! I love how you have gone from zero to "well YEAH her cheap bag is falling apart" in 24 hours! But it's not very nice for her to minimize your beautiful new bag by saying it looks like a $7 bag! When you finish fondling your Carly you might note that your new Patchwork is going to go BEAUTIFULLY with that peacoat you have on the way!
