I'd bet many people have a rope necklace (and/or bracelet) such as yours sitting in their jewelry box. I do. I haven't worn it in years. For me, they went the way of the tennis bracelet.

It'll probably be considered 'new' again in a few years.

get any old pieces appraised you will be surprised at how much its worth. you can take appraisals to the bank which can raise your credit.
