Your ring came out gorgeous! I can appreciate how hard it is to work with marquise, I too had a ring with a lot of sentimental value that wasn't really me. My stone was no where as beautiful as yours though. It was a 7 stone anniversary band about 11/2 carats that my husband gave me on our tenth. I would never exchange something he got me but after about ten years I decided to make it into a dbty necklace and now I love it and where it daily. I can appreciate how hard it must of been to design a ring cuz for years I thought about a ring with a herringbone design. Your ring is beautiful, wear it in good health.

I actually don't know the weight for sure, I could probably get the dimensions from the jeweler, I forgot to ask them to weigh it.... but then again maybe they did for the heck of it.... In any case, I remember when I was little my mom would often throw out there that it was about 1.5 cts. It definitely looks substantial on my finger, and larger than my 1.01 emerald cut but it's hard to tell, plus that finger is a 3.5, my right is a 3 and it looks even bigger on that hand, lol.

^haha, I would never have sought after a ring like this, I'm a emerald or ascher cut diamond girl all the way... but lo and behold I had this beautiful marquise diamond and platinum ring that came from my parents that killed me to be sitting in the safe unused that I couldn't possibly size down without taking apart anyway.....and this was a style I could make of it that made sense for me :) I'm just so in love with it, way more than I ever expected!

Although your parents may have divorced, they created someone who truly loves them. Beautiful product and excellent decision. Things precious are meant to be enjoyed in life and not stored away. :)

here's a couple more all by itself :)

What a wonderful way of having a piece of both of your parents with you always. I love, love, love what you did with your mom's ring. The style is so classic, clean and beautiful.

I hope that my daughter will feel the same way about my ring when I pass it on to her...
