Dude. If I started listing all my purse manias I'd land in a straitjacket. Suffice to say I checked all of the above save one, plus several others of my own (I do not want them haunting you too, so I'll stop here).

Wow where do I begin! I'm sure many of mine are covered already but off the top of my head:

-Really large openings, like totes with no zip. At least give me a magnetic closure! Zips are preferable. I am paranoid about things falling out or teenage pickpockets like that.
-Entire chain strap. These just dig into my shoulder!
-Clutches too. I need my hands, even holding a bag in the crook of my arm is better than nothing!
-Fabric/canvas/nylon bags. I just prefer leather. I don't even consider non-leather anymore.
-Really intense lining that hurts my eyes to look into.
-Wallets that are too fat/wide, like with a French flap. I like to keep minimal amount of cards and cash in my wallet and keep it slim!
-No feet. I actually like bags with feet but I know it doesn't come in every bag style.
-Monograms. This sort of falls into the cloth bags territory but I don't want to be a walking billboard.
-Small-ish bags. I find myself using my smaller bags less and less these days as so many of my day to day necessities take up so much space, especially my sunglasses case!

My list is getting longer and longer the more I read about all your phobias/manias/everything. But this is very interesting! :D

A bag which weighs more than 800 go is a big no!
I was interested in a lovely La Martina cognac tote until I found out it weighed 1,3 kilo![emoji15][emoji17]

Wow! That's one heavy bag!
I never used to think about the weight of a bag, but after switching to lighter bags I noticed my shoulder, back and neck pains have vanished. Starting to think years of carrying a fully loaded bag that's heavy in itself might have had something to do with my problems..? :weird:

I'm a bit paranoid about really open bags, especially totes - I love the look but am still trying to gather the courage to get me a Mulberry Somerset or Large Dorset (been doing this for the past 4 yrs). I use large zip pouches in my open bags (or ones that are easy to open, as in backpacks etc.) because of my paranoia, they might be the answer to the tote issue at least for me. I may have to waive over this for another couple of years until I can muster the courage to try...

Oh and monograms, my pet peave! Nonono. Cheap, tacky and teenager are the first words that come to mind. Sorry to those who are offended by this, I just don't like logos! I don't know if it falls into the OCD/paranoia category though, or if it's just a matter of taste. Might be both. Or then not. IDK.

I am picky and very impatient, It has to be easy to get into, and easy to find my things. I had a beautiful Coach that was so deep I resorted to carrying a small flashlight just so I could see well enough to find things-however I forgot about the fact that I would have to find the damn flashlight.

I love this topic. My youngest son always accuses me of being too picky. I told him that it doesn't matter if you spend $5 or $5000, get what you like don't waste money. I could have spent that $5 on a Slurpee and a Nutrageous bar instead of a bitter coffee from Starbucks.
As for handbags, nothing large. I don't care for totes, bucket bags, or anything that's hard to get into like a bag with straps that have to be buckled. It can be open or with a zip or snap closure. Prefer leather, but I'm a sucker for Gucci monogram. Must have at least a zip pocket on the inside.

Dark linings are a no-no, and it must have a shoulder strap that can go over a heavy coat. It snows where I live during the winter months. I like being hands free especially while shopping.

As far as wallets go, I prefer a card case. If I need something larger, I like snap closures. Most of my wallets are bright colors, but I'm seriously considering buying a men's wallet. Slim, fits a ton, no closures. I also carry a coin purse, key pouch, and a 6 ring key case.

No one mentioned cosmetic cases. I have a beautiful leather one that my MIL gave me from MK, but it takes up too much room in my bag. I love the ones that I get with my ipsy subscription. I can carry my hand sanitizer, lotion, and a couple of lipsticks.

I would love for all my small accessories to match. I love the way it looks when I see the pictures on IG.

I simply don't have the patience to be very careful with my things... so I have discovered that any bags i have to "baby" are a big no-no for me. That means that light colours and delicate materials are out, no matter how lovely they look.

I also love to be hands-free, because I'm usually juggling car-keys, phone, book, etc. whenever I leave the house, so gravitate towards bags with a long strap (which, oddly, I don't have the patience to wear cross body so I just wear on one shoulder).

Ok, I've just realised how strange I am :lawl:

Interesting to read these, lots of things I definitely relate with and yet hadn't really given thought to before!

-Light colored bags - carrying them just tends to be stressful for me, and if I'm going to avoid taking them out, there isn't much point having them
-Excessive weight
-Open tops - I like to have some sort of flap or closure, don't want to worry about things falling out
-Bucket bags - basically the open top issue, feel like I'd be annoyed have to tie and untie
-Only hand-held - I prefer them to have a shoulder/crossbody option
-Kisslock wallets - much prefer zip/snap
-Size - a tiny clutch size bag isn't usable for me most days, so I don't own too many of them
-Lining - if it isn't sewn/fitted properly, it will likely bother me
-Monograms that cover most/all of the bag
-Fringe/fur - in most cases, not a fan of how it looks on me
-Embossed leathers - if it feels like it could flake/chip, I'd be too scared to use it
-Overly delicate leathers - I make a lot of exceptions for this, but do try to avoid some

I refuse to buy any bag with both hand straps to carry as a handbag and shoulder straps. I carry most bags on my shoulder. I don't want hand straps (which usually aren't removable) flapping around annoying me!
Bags with more than one set of straps are my major pet peeve. It seems like a good portion of the time they are added after thought to sell the item as versatile, but the strap doesn't fit the design, or isn't that functional in the end. I like shoulder bags that are designed to be shoulder bags. A big boxy satchel with a strap doesn't cut it, and also doesn't stay on the shoulder for more than a second. Likewise, I like handheld bags designed to be handheld, that shoulder strap excuses too much added weight.

Bag sisters!!! Finally, someone understands[emoji3]

Excellent thread topic! :)

Hmmm.

1) White bags

I owned 1. Soon resembled roadkill with tire skids. Tragic. Never again. Everything about me repels pristine & excessive upkeep.

2) Zip-around wallets, ditto

Love look/features, but purchase ye ol' fold & snap models. Ability to cut skin on practically anything intensifies, when hurriedly rummaging for snack money. 1 tiny zipped coin compartment is all I can manage without frequent hospital visits.

3) Bucket bags

People love these. But, drawstrings worry me. When I launder drawstring pants or hoodies, strings burrow back into tiny fabric holes, as frightened undersea eels. Never to be seen again. Have developed trust issues. So, avoid skittish eel closures on my handbags--annoying things.

4) Exciting/loud bag linings

Again, people love these. People also love online games & those digital display signs @ petrol stations. But, I prefer a more calm world to cram full of lip balm & tissues. Otherwise, my brain makes angry noises & demands more time near trees.

5) Ostrich (avoid all exotics, just to be kind--but, ostrich skin reaaaaaaaaaally bothers me)

All I see are pig nipples. And being rushed by hundreds of starving piglets, who attach to suckle ostrich bag. Forcing me to drag a swine menagerie along my route. If bag is blue, I see ice piglets with frost on snouts. If red, imagine devil piglets, snorting flame. Tragically warped.

I'm sure there's more. But would require some kind of therapy to investigate, probably. ;)

2 & 4 :roflmfao:

Ostrich falls within the exotics that give me the creeps - reminds me of a turkey or a bad case of acne..!

A group therapy sub forum may be needed?

I'm always thought of ostrich as bad acne, but pig nipples?!?!?! This is hilarious! If you ever decide to set a therapy group, count me in. ;)
