RemainSilly, I always enjoy your posts, but I don't think anything on TPF has ever made me laugh as much as this one!
...but now, thanks to you, I have developed a pig nipple phobia!
Dude. If I started listing all my purse manias I'd land in a straitjacket. Suffice to say I checked all of the above save one, plus several others of my own (I do not want them haunting you too, so I'll stop here).
A bag which weighs more than 800 go is a big no!
I was interested in a lovely La Martina cognac tote until I found out it weighed 1,3 kilo![emoji15][emoji17]
Wow where do I begin! I'm sure many of mine are covered already but off the top of my head:
-Really large openings, like totes with no zip. At least give me a magnetic closure! Zips are preferable. I am paranoid about things falling out or teenage pickpockets like that.

-Monograms. This sort of falls into the cloth bags territory but I don't want to be a walking billboard.
Bags with more than one set of straps are my major pet peeve. It seems like a good portion of the time they are added after thought to sell the item as versatile, but the strap doesn't fit the design, or isn't that functional in the end. I like shoulder bags that are designed to be shoulder bags. A big boxy satchel with a strap doesn't cut it, and also doesn't stay on the shoulder for more than a second. Likewise, I like handheld bags designed to be handheld, that shoulder strap excuses too much added weight.I refuse to buy any bag with both hand straps to carry as a handbag and shoulder straps. I carry most bags on my shoulder. I don't want hand straps (which usually aren't removable) flapping around annoying me!

Excellent thread topic!
Hmmm.
1) White bags
I owned 1. Soon resembled roadkill with tire skids. Tragic. Never again. Everything about me repels pristine & excessive upkeep.
2) Zip-around wallets, ditto
Love look/features, but purchase ye ol' fold & snap models. Ability to cut skin on practically anything intensifies, when hurriedly rummaging for snack money. 1 tiny zipped coin compartment is all I can manage without frequent hospital visits.
3) Bucket bags
People love these. But, drawstrings worry me. When I launder drawstring pants or hoodies, strings burrow back into tiny fabric holes, as frightened undersea eels. Never to be seen again. Have developed trust issues. So, avoid skittish eel closures on my handbags--annoying things.
4) Exciting/loud bag linings
Again, people love these. People also love online games & those digital display signs @ petrol stations. But, I prefer a more calm world to cram full of lip balm & tissues. Otherwise, my brain makes angry noises & demands more time near trees.
5) Ostrich (avoid all exotics, just to be kind--but, ostrich skin reaaaaaaaaaally bothers me)
All I see are pig nipples. And being rushed by hundreds of starving piglets, who attach to suckle ostrich bag. Forcing me to drag a swine menagerie along my route. If bag is blue, I see ice piglets with frost on snouts. If red, imagine devil piglets, snorting flame. Tragically warped.
I'm sure there's more. But would require some kind of therapy to investigate, probably.![]()
2 & 4![]()
Ostrich falls within the exotics that give me the creeps - reminds me of a turkey or a bad case of acne..!
A group therapy sub forum may be needed?
