Hi, I am new to vca. I was offered a lucky alhambra braclet yesterday. I have heard it is hard to come by. I do have the 5 motif guilloche and was thinking of getting the guilloche earrings to match. I can only get 1 for now. Which one should I get for my collection? Currently I also own the mop vintage earrings. Do you think frivole earrings match the guilloche? Please do share your thoughts. Thank you

Hi! For me, I would not buy the Lucky Alhambra because of the perceived perception it's hard to get. I would buy it only if you love love love it, and you have had it on your wish list. It doesn't seem that way as you would have already jumped on buying it, so my answer to you is no, don't buy it. Buy only what you really love and want to collect and don't get caught up in hype of something hard to get. Another way to look at it is while it may be hard to get, it is not in high demand as it would have already been sold by now (pre-order, wait list, etc). Also, hard to get does not "not able to purchase with a order." VCA is limiting general stock of pieces that are not super popular, but you can always order them. If you really decide you like Lucky Alhambra later, order it, wait a few months, and poof, it will be yours. For now, I would pass.

For me, I am not a fan of Lucky Alhambra as it is a very different look than classic Alhambra. Lucky is a bit cutesy/childish for me (e.g. heart, butterfly, charm bracelet theme), like wearing a child's theme charm bracelet. I prefer the classic Alhambra line. That's just me of course. Some people prefer the cutesy/childish look.

As for what to get next, I would get either the guilloche earrings to match your bracelet, or get the 5 motif MOP bracelet to match your MOP earrings. I think sets are beautiful. For me, I would get the 5 motif MOP bracelet and wear it together with your guilloche bracelet. You can then wear you MOP earrings with it... so beautiful. These pieces and sets will look so elegant and chic, not cutesy.

Frivole and guilloche... do they match? That is a loaded question and very personal. I will share my thoughts...
At it's core, from a pure design perspective, no, they do not match. If these two designs were no-name pieces at a department store, I don't think people would pair them together as a set. Alhambra is a geometic quatrafoil, while Frivole is a 3-dimensional artistic flowing flower. Very different in my opinion. However, you see it mixed often because people want to bling out in VCA so mentally, "it's VCA, so it must match". If you just want to pile on your VCA, then yes, go for it and put it all on. There is no right or wrong with wearing jewelry, it's very personal.

Last thoughts... If you have to get something Frivole, if I had a guilloche bracelet and wanted to get Frivole earrings, I would not get the all gold ones. That to me is the worst combination as now it's gold gold gold everywhere with contrasting designs. If you have to wear Frivole with guilloche, I would go with the Frivole diamond pave earrings.

Just my two cents to help you decide. Hope that was helpful. Good luck!

WoW…thank you so much for the detailed explaination. I think you made great points. I agree with your thoughts. I think I am going to go ahead and get the guilloche earrings as I already have the mop bracelet as well. Thank you again for taking the time to explain everything. It is really helpful

I ordered the vintage alhambra guilloche pendant over the phone from Wynn Las Vegas. (I live in a different state but they told me to contact the Wynn.) Wynn said they don't have it and it needs to be ordered from Paris. So, they ordered. It arrived yesterday after approx 3 weeks. I opened the necklace but it did not have the blue protective sticker and there was no green van cleef tags attached. It is a little different from my experience with Van Cleef. I wrote the SA to let her know that this is the condition that I received. What do you think really happened there? Is Wynn location trustworthy? Why no tags? Would that be a problem to return, if I decide to return? I am still deciding. TIA!
PS: Necklace itself if okay. I am still examining.
Your pendant looks great!
My experience at the store has been you see the tags at the store so they can track inventory. However, when I buy the actual piece, they remove the tags, clean it up for you, and put it in the nice box and give you a dust bag, etc.
When I have had pieces sent to me, I never get the tags.

With VCA, tags are not like tags on clothing. It is perceived as not attractive or elegant when left on a fine piece of jewelry. I think your pendant is beautiful and looks perfect. Congratulations.

No pics but saw some pieces at VCA in NM at the Westchester Mall today….inventory was limited and they didn’t have anything that I was interested in so I didn’t stay long…
-YG MOP 5 motif bracelet and 20 motif necklace
-Chalcedony vintage single motif necklace and 5 motif bracelet
-2 magic guilloche necklaces
-Turquoise sweet watch
-Lapis sweet watch
-Pave single frivole ring and single mini bracelet (was either YG or RG)
-Small gold Zodiac collection

I haven’t found it yet. We called the customer service line multiple times and never had any help there. Hoping to get it this year. I did hear that they are focusing more on guilloche production but I don’t really know.
I don’t know if this helps but I am in Dubai and if you know anyone flying there, there is stock of the yellow gold hammered in the flagship store. I was debating between hammered and guilloche but ended up getting the latter.

The guilloche is so pretty! Congrats. I was deciding between the two as well. I’m interested in getting something in guilloche-it is just so pretty and shiny.

Hopefully I’ll find the hammered bracelet one soon.
