I took a couple pictures with my LV Speedy 30 for size comparison. They are very close in size, Selina seems to be a bit bigger. The handles on Selina are definitely bigger which is fine by me since I can`t use my Speedy with my winter coats! Also the long strap is adjustable & is definitely long enough for me to wear crossbody comfortably. I`m 5`7ish & a bit plus sized so not every bag fits nicely that way.

Loving the new Roots bags....Might be nice not to have contrasting stitching on some of the bags, as the leather is just so beautiful...not necessary. I am a HUGE Roots fan...great bang for your buck.

Does anyone have any experience with the Olivia bag? I've been oogling it for weeks now. I usually like my bags to have a zipper closure though and this one only has a magnetic snap. I'm wondering how strong the magnet is?

I have two Olivia bags (one in the standard brown and another in limited edition purple with hot pink lining!).

The magnet's pretty strong. I've stuffed my bag before and it's never popped open. One thing that does bother me a bit though is that because of how deep the bag is, you'll be rustling around to find stuff in there.

Other than that, I love that it has two straps-- one short one so you can hang it over your shoulder and another long adjustable one that you can use to turn it into a cross body!

^ me too. Though having said that, ever since I bought my two Roots bags, I haven't bought any new bags. The Gigi is my daily bag, it looks good dressed up or down and holds almost everything while looking quite compact. Anything more, I turn to my Roots Student Pack. I very nearly caved for the Selina quilted and the Alberta collection, but the Kalahari in a Grace or a Madame is very very tempting. i wish they'd post more info on the leather though.

Thanks for the tip! Don't suppose you would feel like posting any pics of your bags would you? There are so few real life pictures of the olivia bag with stuff in it.

What do my fellow tPFer's think about my new Roots bag: The Small Grace Bag in Vintage Tribe Leather. I so love the raw leather and the casualness of it. There is not Roots logo in the front or back...is on the bottom of the bag. Is she a keeper? I am undecided at the moment. $248.
