"The pelvic floor muscles are an essential component of the female body. As well as ... sexual performance and satisfaction, they provide vital support to the pelvic organs, which include the bladder, bowels and uterus."

I have master pelvic muscles, must be from all these high heels I wear and the sex. Lol!

So I'm in the process of learning how to really get around in high heels (3" and up). Don't get me wrong - I know how to walk in them (kinda LOL). For example, I can get from the car to the restaurant and back...but that's about as far as I can go, and I probably don't look that graceful doing it :push:

I really want to be able to slip on a pair of sexy heels and know I'm not going to have to slip them off and carry them if I have to walk more than parking lot distance! I ADORE Louboutins, Zanottis, Choos...but I'm sick of wearing their flats and sandals! Why even wear that drop dead sexy red sole if you can't even see it??

So today I'm trying to train myself to get comfortable in heels by wearing them around the house. I'm dedicated. I will wear these damn things all day even if it kills me (and it probably will).

I will not pay any attention to my super soft and cozy sheepskin Ugg slippers that are calling my name from my closet. Argh. I'm so getting a foot rub tonight.

Any words of encouragement or wisdom would be appreciated!

From what I understand it is just practice and getting your foot used to walking in that position. When I started wearing heels, I could do 2" okay, but 3" was *really* high, now I am comfy at 3" and 4" is *really* high : )

Keep going, you'll get it!

I wish you well,

Bridget

Hmm, I feel like I should really be practising walking in heels too. With all this bad (icy) weather I've just been living in flats. It feels forever since I have worn heels!
I agree with the previous post though, it's a good idea to gradually move up in height. Currently for an everyday shoe I go for 2 1/2 to 3" and feel perfectly comfortable in those. 4"+ I save for occasional wear... I am getting there slowly
Good luck and let us know how you get on!

It just takes practice :) You're doing the right thing by wearing them around your house. I have always worn heels so I'm used to most, but they have always been below 4". I finally just started buying 4+ inch heels and while they are currently just for special occasions, I want to get used to wearing them daily like to work and such, so I'm trying to practice with my high ones as well. It will become second nature soon!

Just keep practicing... I used to only wear 2" heels. Then after I was done being pregnant (and living in flats) I went to 2.5-3". Then a few weeks ago I went to 3.5-4". Now 3" feel like flats to me.

Thanks everybody :smile1:

I'm in 3" right now...while they're not exactly what I would call comfortable, I'm noticing them less as the day wears on. I have gotten a couple of minor foot cramps though :( I'm such a wimp.

I think I should get some non-skid soles attached before I kill myself. We have hardwood floors, and I've almost landed flat on my rear three or four times today already LOL!

I suggest some kind of padding like Dr. Sholl or a small platform if you are on training wheels
I love wearing my heels out but there are still some very tiny strappy sandal ones that I cannot wear walking around town... so get some good heel support and / or front support type of shoes to start with :)

I've always dreamed of wearing heels but being 5'10" tall and pretty goofy, even thinking about wearing heels make me want to fall down on my face. I currently live in sneakers and flats. I think I will also start "training" myself to wear heels....I think I will start with the 1/2" heels.
