How to organize fob, purses, wallets, etc. for storage?

I know this is an older thread, but I didn't want to start a new thread since this one is still relevant. We all need help with storage ideas occasionally since our collections are ever-evolving entities, right? ;)
Here is my new storage tower. I bought it at Lowe's. You can get multiple drawers, or no drawers at all. I wanted a drawer for my wristlets and wallets. I still need at least one more tower, and I'm still trying to figure out how to store SLGs without touching. ( for which I saw a great idea in this very thread! )

Thanks for posting the pics--great idea.

I do stored mine in a visible way at the same time organized IMO:-)

I broke down and completely redid my closet and bought the closet organizing shelving units from home depot and the container store. I have them neatly placed on the shelves, but even now I'm starting to run out of space! Is it bad that im thinking about a closet expansion lol!

When my fiancée and I were looking for an apt last year, one of the must haves was my very own closet just for my handbags and shoes. Fast fwd to now and I got what I wanted. lol.

Although my bags have a whole closet for themselves, I still find it tedious to switch bags because each one is in a dust bag and my laziness gets the best of me. I don't want to remove them from their dust bags either and hang them up so I can find them easily because I don't want them to gather dust.

I guess I don't really have a solution for you (or for myself)...Its just comforting to know that the bags are all in one place as opposed to being scattered in random closets around the apt. ;)

I was the same as you. Why have so many bags when it was too much work to change bags? Take bag out of dust bag, take stuffing out of the bag, swap stuff from one hand bag to the other. Stuff the other hand bag, put it in a dust bag and arrange it on the shelf. Boring!

Plus, when I opened the closet I wanted to see bags, not DUST bags, but this was the way it was for a long time until I decided something had to change. So I decided to give something a try. I took all my bags out of their dust bags and took the bubble wrap I use for stuffing out of the bags. I then put the bubble wrap inside of the dust bags and stuffed them into the hand bags.....WAY EASIER to stuff and unstuff now. I then arranged them on the shelving and shut the closet door. Because the bags were easier to access I found I was changing out a lot more often. And to my surprise I found that the bags were NOT getting all dusty. I guess since it's an extra bedroom and there's not a lot of activity in there, that keeps the dust down. Plus, I do keep the closet door closed.

Try it with one or two bags and see if they get real dusty....I even dust mine when I'm cleaning that bedroom. :smile1:

a friend of mine tapes polaroid pictures of the bags to her dustbags

I think this is a great idea! I also have stuffing in the bag and dustbag over the bags when not in use. It really is a hassle whenever I switch bags. Now I just have to find a dust free closet.

I am trying to organize purses and fobs, wallets scarves for storage. I have too much that a box or shelf here or there won't cut it.

I was thinking of those Sterlite type containers for the fobs at least. But I would need an army of the small three type, I need something on a larger scale. I don’t want to have them on shadowbox display as some people do. That won’t work for me.

Same question for wallets, bags scarves, etc. I have, volume wise, more bags than anything. If you box them you can only get three or four in a box.

Thx for ideas.
I keep some bags in dust bags in a large clear tub thingie with the locking lid, and my plain leather totes (Baggu) hanging on hooks in the closet. I keep my fobs/hangtags and small clutches in one of those old-school looking, floral hatbox thingies... found it at Marshall's. Can't wait til we move out of this small apartment so I have room for prettier storage solutions, lol.

For my keychain fobs I use those magnetic strips and thumb tack them in my closet. And since some of the rings Coach uses aren't magnetic I use the thumb tacks that hold the strips up for those ones. The magnets are really strong so they don't go anywhere. And they have jars that you can attach to them also if you want something to put them in.
