I am trying to organize purses and fobs, wallets scarves for storage. I have too much that a box or shelf here or there won't cut it.

I was thinking of those Sterlite type containers for the fobs at least. But I would need an army of the small three type, I need something on a larger scale. I don’t want to have them on shadowbox display as some people do. That won’t work for me.

Same question for wallets, bags scarves, etc. I have, volume wise, more bags than anything. If you box them you can only get three or four in a box.

Thx for ideas.

Oh geez, I am kinda in the same boat. I have tons of purses on shelves in every closet in the house plus some in a box but I would like to have them all in one place where I can access them and see them easier. I am actually planning on going this weekend to look at shelving planks to possibly make a really large shelf close to the ceiling of my bedroom (right above my headboard). My dad is in construction so he can put it up for me easily. I plan on possibly buying some pretty boxes that I saw at Ikea and put the bags that don't have dust bags in the boxes. I don't know, maybe someone has a better idea. I am kinda at a loss as well on what to do. I don't have much space or else I would dedicate an entire wall unit to display my bags but that's really not an option. I have such little room that I have to take what I can get out of the space that is left (eg: close to the ceiling, lol)

I'm completely out of space for my bags, and it's become a real problem. It's getting to where I won't even change my bag very often because finding the one I want is a HUGE hassle. That's even with having them labeled! (That means I have a sickness, right?)

As far as my wallet/wristlets, I have a good sized dresser drawer that I use for those. All the wallets are lined up, facing forward, from the front of the left side of the drawer all the way to the back. Same thing with wristlets, and I have about 4 rows of this, with coin pouches in the center. This really works for me. Fobs and scarves I keep in a large Coach box, like a large shoebox or box that a bag came in.

I love Really Useful Boxes!

I'm gradually shifting all my storage to these. They have snap handles that lock the lid in place, stack, and come in clear, blue, pink, purple, and every kind of size! They are expensive, but MUCH more sturdy than any other storage I have tried. (And I've moved 18 times in my life -- Army brat, spent half my life storing things.)

I'm not sure if they would be economically feasible for stuffed purses (since you could only fit 1 or 2 in a standing file-sized box) but for fobs, wallets, and accessories they would be great!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one with this problem!!

Lizmil-
For my wallets and wristlets I have been using (though not too practical) over the door shoe organizers (I'm running out of doors though!).
For fobs, I use those hanging jewelry holders w/ the plastic pockets, (although I use the open top pocket style vs. the zipper top pocket style) which has become an issue in the past when one of my hangers fell down, and all the fobs tumbled out.

I would LIKE to get some of those hangers w/ the circular holes in them for all my scarves, but I'm afraid I have so many that I'd need a whole mess of these, and I worry they might slip out so they are all currently in 2 see-through Sterlite boxes (I have one box for Ponytail scarves and a separate one for the square scarves)...

I love hearing people's ways for storing their things, so hopefully you'll get a lot of good feedback from TPF'ers!

I have something like that that I use for nails, screws, bolts, etc. I've never thought of using it for fobs. I would be afraid that I would have to open every drawer to find the one I wanted. I've used the hanging pocket organizers like this one: http://www.containerstore.com/shop/...11&green=E50B9333-F605-5720-08B2-2C60DDFB6DEA
That is what I'm using now for my scarves. I have some fobs in there too but I don't like to use them for the furry ones because they might get squished. I have most of my fobs on bracelet trees, like this one, but shorter. http://www.containerstore.com/shop?productId=10028399&N=&Ntt=jewelry+spinner
I have my wallets on pot lid racks like these: http://www.containerstore.com/shop/...07&green=E50B9333-F605-5720-08B2-2C60DDFB6DEA

This one looks interesting for fobs: http://www.containerstore.com/shop/jewelryStorage/hanging?productId=10025750

How do you do the pot rack for wallets?

I just thought, maybe an under the bed organizer for wallets.? You could probably get quite a few in one of those.

I like it because it keeps them separated. I don't like them touching in case of color transfer. I can see them all easily and I don't have to move any out of the way to get the one I want. They take up less shelf space because they are held upright.

I'm sorry, I'm dense. How do you put the wallets on the pot rack? Vertically? Horizontally? How many fit on one rack? I would need and army of racks it if only fits 2 or3.

Yes, they only hold 4. I have three of them for my accordion wallets. I keep my wristlets and smaller wallets in dustbags in a box.

I haven't found a great solution myself for bag storage. I now plan to steal emilybug's drawer idea for wallets and wristlets. I have, however found a great solution for fobs. I use Target's large hanging jewelry organizers with all the clear pouches. They take up minimum space in the closet, yet you can still see them all at a glance.

I use these canvas covered boxes to organize wallets, wristlets, and clutches from the Container Store: http://www.containerstore.com/shop?productId=10000883&N=&Ntt=linen+box

They have a label holder on the front that I use to identify color. I have my stuff organized into: black, neutrals, reds/oranges, blues/green/purple. It keeps everything dust free which I love and the boxes look pretty in my closet. They hold a surprisingly large amount.
