haha omg i feel like a dork. what is appleguard? i've never heard of it

Not sure. I read that people use it to clean the leather handles and condition it. Maybe someone will jump in and let us know more about it.

I rotate mine in the window for a few days. It usually tans it just a little. Well.... i am in central pa, here! haha. Very few sunny days!

I use the Apple Garde repellant spray and the leather care. It cleans and also conditions your vachetta. It smells sooo good!

I have read that some people put them in their tanning beds!
Also, someone left it in the car on a hot sunny day and had instant patina.
Definitely sunshine, putting by the window, etc. will make it patina faster but depending on the amount of sunshine will dictate how fast it patinas.

I like it both new/light and with patina so I am going to buy mine new so I can enjoy the whole process, and it will be uniquely mine!

Thanks for that - I have a new mono speedy 30 and I was thinking about how to keep the handles from getting grubby looking - but I guess that's all part of the deal.
