How to get seasonal/popular bags?

I've always wondered if SAs can tell who's a reseller or enthusiast, and if they could, would they care? A sale is a sale, so does it really matter? Sure you might get some upset customers, but it doesn't stop people from buying.
yes, they can definitely tell if you’re a reseller. When you go to purchase, they will look up your profile and they can look to see how many purchases you’ve made recently. Even if you bought 5 pieces recently but different items, you’re likely to be okay versus someone who went and got 10 of the same bag. I’ve heard the SA’s are really cracking down on resellers.

I was definitely curious about that @Kem45. I follow a few to see better photos of the items outside of studio lighting but I was always curious why that would be. Is Instagram shutting them down, are they being reported for being scammers (I’m sure not all but some are), is it Chanel corporate taking legal action? I am curious.
I wondered that too!

Hi! I’m also in Michigan. Honestly, the best chanel SA is Teresa at the saks Chanel boutique. She is younger and works hard and has helped me find multiple bags that are hard to get. Even if they were once out of stock she keeps her eye out if anything is returned. She also shows me bags as they come in and she’s just on top of it.
Also, for personal shoppers, I have bought Chanel boots from Gail, and her account is looking_for_luxe. She is the best. She charges a reasonable fee (7-10%) of whatever you’re looking for, and she spends so much of her free time looking for things you want without charging up front. She’s really been great and I almost feel like I have to ask her to pay her, instead of her bothering me for payment, which makes me want to pay her more! Let me know if you need any other help and good luck
Hi fellow Michigander! I will look into contacting Teresa. Would that leave a bad taste with my current SA at Saks? Hopefully both of them dont end up banning me haha

Do you feel like she hustles for you? I know it’s totally sort of awkward but sometimes some SAs just don’t work that hard and you depend on them. Anyway I’ll text Teresa tomorrow and see if she’s cool with me giving her number out and if she is I’ll pass it along :-)

My SA and I had a good chat recently about this and how it’s almost impossible to procure a “popular” bag now and the solution she told me is to preorder or pre-reserve what I want. She said the list usually comes out a few months prior to the release date so if I really want something I should reserve it. She also mentioned that all the bags are very limited so even among her colleagues they have to compete to get the bag for their client.
I think a lot of PS and resellers are SAs themselves or have relations with SAs therefore they always get inside info before everyone else does.

Orchmelia on IG is the one I use. There's a whole thread about her in the Chanel Shopping subforum. Be aware that because she doesn't charge a lot, she doesn't really provide the whole "service" aspect. Like you basically tell her what you are looking for, and she'll help you find it. I believe for some bags she might require a deposit that is refundable if she isn't able to find the bag for you. She charges a deposit because I understand a lot of people have asked her to find bags for them and then they back out once she's found it, so this just prevents time wasters. You pay her directly, along with her fee. You should do your own research separate from her, for example on Youtube or Purseforum. She literally just helps you find bags and might answer a few basic questions, but that's it. If you're looking to get good service, you'll probably be disappointed with her, but you get what you pay for (basically a procurement service). I've bought from her several times and it's usually very straightforward, and I get a beautiful bag without having to search for it myself.

+1 for Orchmelia
I’ve purchased from her and she’s fairly straight to the point. Most IG sellers charged an extortionate fee for using them, she doesn’t. She will ask for deposit to secure the bag for you and if she can’t get it, she will let you know and refund you. I’m still waiting for my bag to arrive and will let you know how it all goes.

My husband think she does haha..she is nice but I was taken aback when she outright said she doesnt have any bags for me and didnt attempt to search for it. I didnt even know i could still get on the wishlist. I just got a Dior bag as Dior prices are also going to increase from 2/1 so cannot buy another bag at this time. But still pm me Teresa's number (if she is ok) and I will contact her when I am ready to buy the next bag. Hoping to get brown/caramel bag again in stock or future seasons. Thanks!

Another good reference for Orchmelia. I had a brief interaction with her about a WOC (which I decided not to get because of the size) and she was nice and straight forward. I also like that she gets brand news bags straight from the boutique.

My SA who has come through for me in the past, I just texted about the new champagne gold mini. She said it would be impossible for her to get one for me because it is heavily waitlisted in all boutiques.

So frustrating!!!!

I think it's Chanel pressuring Instagram, but I'm not sure if it's because of reselling or copyright/misrepresentation - like they're using the Chanel brand, maybe as part of their username, and people think they are somehow affiliated with Chanel when they're not. I'm not terribly optimistic that it's going to have a serious impact on resellers though, I'm sure they'll find a way.

I was scrolling through IG yesterday and and saw that one reseller had FOUR of that super popular rose clair classic flap from 21C... insane!

Orchmelia is based in the US, I am in the UK and was hit with import charge. It’s not so bad as it’s still below retail price here. Overall, it did take longer than expected, I had to wait at least 2 weeks. I don’t know if it’s due to the delivery service used or the boutique not getting any shipments in. In the end, I’m happy with my purchase.

I’ve ordered another bag with IG ‘DearLuxe’, super quick delivery and very prompt with messages. The bag got here from HK to UK within 3 days. Highly recommend both sellers!
