How to curl stubborn asian lashes?

my friend is a makeup artist and he said that eyelash curlers in general should be completely thrown out after you go through the second pad bc the curlers usually lose their shape and don't curl properly...not sure if i entirely believe it but i have noticed that my one year old curler has not been as good curling my right eyelashes lately

I like the heated curler from target!:blushing: I have tried many different mascaras and I always end up back with Lancome Definicils. It is not water proof, but it is water resistant and doesn't seem to smudge after a long day. The Lancome eye make up remover is also what I use to take it off with as I switch to the waterproof formula mascara during the summer months or if I know I will be near water activities.:beach: Anyway, try Sephora, they will let you return anything if you do not like it, even without a receipt!
BTW... I'm also asian.
Good Luck!:smile1:

I use the Anna Sui curler (too pretty!), and ZA Volume mascara really works for my pathetic lashes.

Thinking of trying out the Shiseido curler when my Anna Sui needs replacing, and maybe the Chanel Inimitable mascara which the girls seem to be nuts about in the other mascara thread.

Try Tweezerman eyelash curler, I like it better than Shu Uemura's. I think it depends on how long you curl your lashes too. Try not to squeeze too hard when you're curling the lashes. For me personally, i hold the curlerfor about a min, do the other one, then go back to the first, and do it again. Sounds crazy, but it works _ and give me nice luscious lashes

DEFINITELY Shiseido!!! I have the thin, short, VERY wimpy lashes that actually point downwards! Hard to believe eh? Curlers would ever do anything and it was one of those items where i thought... "what difference could the brand make!??!" I am glad to say i was WRONG!!

Shiseido does a wonderful job of curling my lashes. Even my sister who laughed at me for spending $15 on a lash curler eventually gave in when she tried it and went out and purchased one herself. She loves it also. I've also heard good things about the Shu one. One more thing I like about shiseido is you can buy replacement pads! =) Now... if only I could find a mascara that volumizes and legthens my lashes yet does not weigh down the curl....
