How To Clean Your Coach!

Hi there, I'm new to tpf. I searched through this thread, but haven't seen this issue posted. I recently purchased a black Kristin leather hippie. According to the care card and an SA as well, the coach leather moisturizer is ok to use on this particular bag. However when I used it (so far only twice) I noticed black on the white cloth I was using to buff it (both times, and I was gentle). I mean the bag looked great afterwards, but over time I don't want the color to fade. Any advice? Thanks!!
I use Apple leather conditioner on my Kristin black round satchel and no black color came off. I also use a microfiber cloth or eyeglass cloth to buff it. I know the care card in my black Kristin said not to use Coach leather cleaner or moisturizer on it so that's why I went with the Apple...

I have heard that if you send it in to Coach they will take care of your bag for you. Is'nt this true?

The Coach website states that they do not offer a cleaning service. They offer repairs for $20 for defective materials. But they don't repair everything. Visit the website for mor information.

Dang that sucks. Thanks for the information.

No problem, BUT.

You can go to any outlet or store and buy the cleaning products there. They have some for siggy and some for leather. You have to ask them for it, they don't just have it laying out.

Are you trying to clean fabric or leather?

im sure what i'm about to say ISNT FOR EVERYONE.....but i was able to find a siggy stripe Diaper bag off craigslist for a "family member" and when i went to meet the lady that was selling it SHE WAS SMOKING IN THE CAR WITH THE BAG!!! .... so i paid for the bag (b/c i talked her down to a great price) and took it home to clean it up....the bag was in overal great condition but it smelled like smoke and had some stains on the bottom.

Then thats when my fiance told me to just throw it in the washer. i was like WHAT?! NO! i have the Coach fabric cleaner and it'll work...but it had a heavy smoke smell to it so i threw the coach bag in the washer with a couple towels, added those Tide bubble soap thingys, and had it on a cold wash...and well it turned out great....the bag didn't lose its shape and the stains are gone. at first i just had it hanging upside down to dry but then after a day it was still wet on the inside so i threw it in the dryer for about 10 min.....

yes its a dramatic way to clean a bag but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do...

How do you ladies go about cleaning the lining of Madison bags? The lining of my Sophia is gross from normal wear and I've been wanting to clean it up.
Is your Sophia leather or fabric? You have to be a little more careful if it is leather because you don't want it to get too wet.

You can pull out the lining to clean it. If it isn't too bad, I use a mild spray cleaner that doesn't need rinsing and wipe it with a cloth. The cleaner I use is the stuff they sell at the dollar store that you dilute with water. Any mild cleaner will work as long as it doesn't have bleach in it. If the lining needs more intense cleaning, you can wet it and use soap. I usually use dishwashing detergent like Dawn but if you do this, you will have to rinse it well. Then wring it out, wrap it in a towel to absorb the excess water, and set it aside to dry. Try to not get the creed too wet because they tend to absorb water. If this happens, use a blow dryer on it.

It's fabric!

Hi everyone, I'm new to TPF and I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this question (if not, I'd really appreciate it if someone can redirect me!).

I recently acquired a older Court bag from my mom (my sister chose the square one; we haven't gotten around to identifying the style yet. Any ideas?). According to some online research on serial numbers, it was made in the US in 1995. As you can see in the second picture, there are a couple of scratches on the leather. My questions are:

1) How should I go about cleaning/conditioning and protecting it? I currently have Apple Garde Rain & Stain Repellent and Skidmore's Leather Cream (I've use Skidmore's on my boots before, but I've never used it on a purse).

2) Should I pick up some Coach Leather Cleaner and/or Leather Conditioner?

Thanks in advance!!

I was told to use shout so I got the shout stain remover gel scrubber stuff and am wondering if that might of not been the right one. Can anyone help me fix this? My purse hasn't dried yet, but still I'm worried that I should maybe use water to follow with the gel idk help me pleaseeeeee......??????
