1)How old are you and when did you get your first designer bag?
I'm 44 and got my first real designer bag when I was 24. My husband and took a houseguest to see Rodeo Drive and we ended up at the Ted Lapidus store just as they put some things on sale.


2)And what was it?
He bought me a Ted Lapidus shoulder bag which I believe was on sale for $275. It was a ton of money at the time (at least for us), and I wore it every day for the next five years until the poor thing finally gave up the ghost. Oddly enough, I just saw one on eBay (pic below) and am thinking of buying it for sentimental reasons. However, it's still almost the price I paid for a brand new one 20 years ago and I'm not sure I'd actually wear it so much... Hoping someone else will snatch it up and take away the decision!

I have around 30. Unless my husband is reading this, in which case I have 5 or 6. :angel:


4)How many accessories (wallets..etc)?
I have 6 wallets and an assortment of coin purses, carryalls, and pouches.


5)What bag are you dying to get next?
Hard to say... the list is definitely bigger than the budget!

I would like to have a Mon Monogram speedy although it's not practical, or another Sprouse NF but in Graffiti Fuschia, but I def. won't be able to get that I don't think. I will probably buy a Kate Spade or Tory Burch bag soon

I'm 21, and got my first "designer" bag at 17

2)And what was it?
The DB "It" bag, back then I thought $150 was expensive. Lo and behold I'd get into Chanel 2 years later and think $2000 is a super DEAL for a handbag!

3)How many purses do you have in your collection?
If you count just the "premier designers" then I think about 15. Once you get your first Chanel, it's hard to stop =] Oh and Balenciagas are super nice too <3

4)How many accessories (wallets..etc)?
Way too many. Chanel sunglasses, LV wallet, Marc Jacobs card holders/zip clutch, TONS of Juicy cardholders, coin cases, phone holder, laptop bag, cosmetic bags/cases, etc.

5)What bag are you dying to get next?
There are way too many bags I'm DYING to get. The two front runners are: a Chanel tweed flap in a pretty pink or green color or a Bal giant city in Sapphire! I'm trying to find a nice yellow bag too...

Chanel classic flap in caviar...but I suck at saving, and as a full-time college student and no job, I dont see it being in my possession anytime soon! :(

I am 25, and 15.

My first expensive bag was given to me from my mother as a gift when I was 15, it was a coach bag. But I don't really consider coach designer, no offense. My first "real" designer bag was a fendi baguette that I purchased with money that I had saved up at my part-time job when I was 17. I got it at saks off 5th and there was a sale and coupon involved...so I think I only paid $380 for it. It was a deep red with the black F's and black leather. It was my baby....and it was just the beginning lol.

3)How many purses do you have in your collection?
Oh, man, I haven't counted. I think I have about 40...but I am trying to sell off the ones that I'm not using or haven't used in a long time so that I can try and focus on building a collection of staples that I will actually use.

4)How many accessories (wallets..etc)?
I have 2 coach wallets, 1 mbymj wallet, 1 mj key ring pouch that I use as a wallet, a couple of kate spade makeup bags, and a mj flat case that I use as a makeup pouch. I'm not big on accessories...they are usually too much money, wallets and pouches can be upwards of $400 (MJ), and I would rather have a bag.

5)What bag are you dying to get next?
My next bag is a Treesje Fuschia Asher and its being shipped sometime next week...after that, who knows...probably more Treesje, because I have recently discovered this brand, and depending on how I feel about my asher, I may find it to be a good new brand to spend my money on considering the price point.

I just got my Gucci D-Gold 2 weeks ago, so my husband has put me on a(temporary) ban (for now...:nogood:) But it's ok, that gives me time to look for the next one...!:graucho:

When I was younger, bags never really appealed to me. Then when I went to Las Vegas, I saw a recurring image, guys carrying small messenger bags (ie man purses/murses). I was 18 at the time and I thought to myself I would never get sucked into that trend. Boy was I wrong. About a month after getting back from Las Vegas, I started noticing that I carry a whole bunch of crap with me and I needed some way to carry them all. I then purchased (my first bag) an Old Navy messenger bag to help me carry my stuff. Fast foreward five years later and Now I am completely obsessed with bags. I now carry a vintage Coach Messenger bag which I love to use. And my bag obsession first emerged from my old navy bag which I purchased 5 years ago.

With that said, how old were you when you first started carrying a bag and what was your first bag?

My answer:
Age: 18
Bag: Old Navy Canvas Messenger

I don't remember how old I was when I first carried a bag, I'm sure I was pretty young and the purse either came from Walmart or Kmart and I carried Department store purses up until about 2 years ago when I discovered Coach. I'm 28 now.
