1)How old are you and when did you get your first designer bag?
I'm 20, and I just got my first designer....yesterday :D

2)And what was it?
Alexander Mcqueen Pilgrim Tote in Tan

3)How many purses do you have in your collection?
1 :) And it'll probably be another couple of years before I get a bag this expensive again (or not? who knows. Just depends on whether I find something I just HAVE to have :D)

4)How many accessories (wallets..etc)?
None!

5)What bag are you dying to get next?
Burberry Studded bag---but that's what you would call a "yume no mata yume" (a dream within a dream). I didn't know about it when they were having the sale on it---and now all the ones that ARE available are going for well over $1500.

1)How old are you and when did you get your first designer bag?And what was it? when I was in my late teens I boughts lots of Dooney & Bourke, Coach, Cole Haan... And raided my mom's vintage Dior and Celine from the attic! My first it-bag was a birthday gift for my 20 something-a Dior large "my Dior" bag in a beautiful, supple light beige leather... I treasure it so much that it spends too much time in the dust bag!

3)How many purses do you have in your collection? So many now... I prefer other brands these days
4)How many accessories (wallets..etc)? Not going to count...
5)What bag are you dying to get next? Ohhhh, well I have to hold back for a bit, but I do lovea certain Ferragamo clutch :)

I'm 22, I got my first designer bag when I was 17.

2)And what was it?
Kate Spade for Maria Kalman - I forget the exact name of it - but it's still one of my favorite purses, it has little drawings of a dog and a woman walking a dog on it. Black with turquoise leather handles.

10

4)How many accessories (wallets..etc)?
If clutches/wristlets count then 2


5)What bag are you dying to get next?
Well, I really wanted the Coach Ergo, but no store around me has the color I wanted so I gave up on it. Quilted Chanel is always up there, Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Bag, and the Deep Purple Botkier James Hobo

DKNY small frame bag.. was a gift from my aunty for my 18th birthday

9 designer and a never ending number of non-designer purses

i now have 21 couture handbags in my collection, as i have located & bought the chloe hampton handle & also bought a larg gucci shouler bag from the gucci outlet in NJ last week. it's basic, but perfect for traveling (& it's gucci)!

next i'll add the LV damier azur galliera pm to my handbag collection (it's absolutely gorgeous!).

i also now have a missoni scarf. forgot to mention that i already had the following accessories: a LV iphone case, a gucci make-up bag, a burberry ipod holder & a tiffany business card holder, a pair of chanel sunglasse, a pair of versace sunglasses (i also have a pair of burberry pajamas, not sure if that counts under accessories or not). my dog has a burberry sweater.

next i'll add the LV monogram canvas wapity case to my accessories collection and use it as a camera case for my digital camera.

1. I was 23 when I got my first designer bag
2. It was a Coach signature hobo style. It was the start of a Coach obsession which led to more and more expensive bags!
3. I have I think 11 designer bags and a TON of cutesy non-designer ones, probably 15 or more.
4. As for accessories- 2 coach wallets, a couple of mini-skinnies, a Coach dog collar on my beagle Bella, an LV key pouch, Burberry scarf...
5. I need a great brown bag, not sure what I'm going to get though...

It was a large tan Gucci Tote. Still have it...

1)How old are you and when did you get your first designer bag?
I am 36yo and I got what I would consider my first *real* designer bag (not a hand-me-down, and something nicer than full-blown mass-market, at least at the time) when I was about 25 or 26yo. I did have a very nice briefcase before that, but not a handbag as such.

2)And what was it?
This was back when Kate Spade was considered a bit more *fancy* and she had just truly branched out from all of the nylon totes. My DH (then my fiancée) bought me a bag from the Kate Spade boutique in SF. I still have it. It's a structured, almost hard, tote-style bag in a lovely acid-y green textured leather. Because it's SO structured, it's a little difficult to carry, but it's still a gorgeous bag, and probably the most elegant, well-made Kate Spade I've ever personally seen. I still love it quite a bit and it's held up incredibly well, although it needs to go to the Bag Hospital and get some stitching fixed.

3)How many purses do you have in your collection?
Not that many. A couple Coach. The Kate Spade. A gorgeous gold clutch from Anya Hindmarch. A fun little orange silk evening bag with horn handles from Wilkes Bashford in SF. A black zip document case from Bally. A couple of Hogans. And a whole bunch of fabric totes of various sorts. I have young boys who are *destroyers of anything nice* at the moment, so I am kind of saving and holding off on additional purchases (I am hoping for an H Lindy) for a little bit. As an example, I bought an awesome orange Ferragamo wallet a couple years ago, and the same day, my younger son spit up on it. It still has a stain.

4)How many accessories (wallets..etc)?
Not many. A funky wallet I bought in Paris years ago. A Bally passport/travel document holder. A Ferragamo wallet. A fun pouch from. . . where? I can't remember. For cosmetics.

5)What bag are you dying to get next?
H Lindy in a grey color (maybe Etoupe) is the current (next couple of years) Holy Grail, but that might take some serious time and patience. I have also been eyeing LV Passy as a gift from Mom, as I really like how durable Epi is, given my lifestyle. Someday. . . someday. . . a Birkin.

I beg to differ. Designer is something different for everyone, at every age-- it's whatever is aspirational and the tiniest bit *out of reach.* Coach might not be designer to me now, but it was when I was in my early 20s. And it still is, to a lot of my friends who are teachers or grad students and buy most of their stuff at Target.

*Designer* is all about your context.

LV Mono mini backpack, which I exchanged for LV Vavin bag. What can I say, I'm as high maintenance as my mother!

Not a ton, but all designer... 1 Coach, 1 Longchamp Tote, LV Ellipse Backpack, LV Trouville, LV Mini Looping, LV Vavin, and finally my latest buy the Sprouse Roses Speedy :D

9ish? Coach zip wallet, Tiffany Passport holder, Coach wristlet, LV Cerises Zippy, LV French Purse, Juicy Black wrist clutch, matching card/coin purse, Pink LV Vernis Small Agenda, one more LV piece but not sure what it was called (I bought it as a cover for my ipod nano)

French purse LV in Damier ebene.

I would LOVE the LV Trevi PM or Tivoli GM. :heart:
