How many purses should a woman own?

I think it depends somewhat on lifestyle. I'm a student, so I really don't need a lot of day purses that can't hold books! I have one nice tote, one large hobo bag, 2 smaller, classic bags for when I'm not carrying books (like, never), two fun and flashy bags, and one evening bag. I could really use a few more large bags though, that's what I'm saving my money for now! Just analyze your lifestyle and see what you think will work for you, and then modify from there!

I have nine bags, in a range of sizes, colors, and functions. I have sold off many to get to this number.

Eight of them qualify as "expensive" ($300 - $1000) -- one is a cheapie Fossil bag that I love, especially for hiking or ballgames.

Ten would be a nice number to stop at, but at the moment nothing really tickles my fancy. I think I would need to move into a higher income bracket to add to my collection at this point.

That's the question my fiance ask me all the time! haha. There's really no answer to that. Some ppl buy them becoz they are collectors, and some just like changing purses everyday. As long as you can afford them, it shouldn't matter how many you have. But I think a women should have at least one evening purse (which I am still looking for!) and one everyday purse/bag.

That depends on the person. I believe you can't have too many, but my mom thinks more than 5 or 6 is too many. As long as you like your purses, and can afford them, you don't have too many.

Right now I own 15 handbags my most expensive being over 2k and I still want more so, I the limit is now at 20 handbags and I will try not to exceed over 3k for a handbag...3k for 1 handbag is the most that I will pay and I must love it to bits....

realistically I'm thinking of staples

fun outdoors bag for say the beach
brown everyday bag
black everyday bag
fun color every day bag
evening red bag
evening black bag
2-3 work totes
couple of clutches.
