Lol...that's so funny! Never noticed either...only had my Phoebe a couple of weeks though! I agree with the others that said " No pens in my bag!" I carry one in a wristlet or the center of my zip wallet only!

Ditto. That little slip won't help if the pen explodes or if the clicker gets pushed or the cap gets knocked off. I've had a pen break before in a bag. Bad juju. I'm also uber careful with lippies.
+1...LMAO.....BAD juju! We must be about the same age to use that term! Lol! So funny! I always keep my lipsticks and Chapsticks in a separate wristlet too! Had a number of accidents with those!
Ah, that's where I remember seeing them - in my 2011 glam. My older 2009 glam didn't have it.
Same here! No loose pens, ever. Actually I don't carry anything loose. Everything is inside a wallet or wristlet - keeps the linings of my bags pristine, and makes switching bags that much easier too.
Me neither. That's why I don't pay any attention to the pen pocket. I've noticed it on bags before but I don't even remember which ones.

I think it just looks neater as well. I also love coordinating the wristlets with my bags!
I didn't really notice it when I first got my Lindsey either. I think I had Lindsey at least a month before it dawned on me that I could put a pen in that skinny opening.
Yup, my Madison tote (2012/13 style) has this nice little detail too! It's pretty convenient...I keep a double-ended combination stylus/pen in there and haven't had any accidents since it is a twist-open style.
Lippies unfortunately have been a different story. Thankfully it only happened in one bag but it was still unfortunate and traumatizing.
