i don't mean to be a wiseguy but if i saw someone's earring dangling like that i'd be tempted to tell them their earring was falling off and they were in danger of losing it..

I always wear mine close to the ear. If i were to wear them as drops then i would definitely go for something similar to what Jaspter posted, those are absolutely gorgeous!

In my world, dangling earrings are designed to be dangling and stud earrings are worn close to the ear. That's the definition of a stud earring to me. If it was "dangling" because of a long post not corked properly on the back, that would be accidental to me.

Like Japster said, there are earrings with small half-loops on them that are designed to place the diamond just below the earlobe with the loop going through the ear. However, again, those earrings are designed to be drop earrings - they aren't just stud earrings half-hanging off the ear!

i agree - i like the look of drop earrings, but they are spec. made to look like that. studs should be close to the lobe, mine only look dangling if the backing is loose!

I actually really like the pic of them dangling, but I feel that can only be pulled off if they are very large. I do wear mine close but like the look better dangling. hm I guess I am the odd one out!

Japster - I actually ordered those discs for the SS pearls I got from you - I'm using them with the larger backs you sent. My holes are stretched a bit - using those together is working like a charm! ;)
