How do you wear your crossbody?

I'm 5'2 and a size 4, and find that crossbody straps are sometimes longer than I'd prefer.

If I crouch down (and I do this a lot, with a 2 year old) and the bag manages to hook under my butt or touch the ground, that's almost an immediate expulsion from my bag collection. I like the bag to hit my hip exactly.
We are on opposite ends of the spectrum. I have had a few bags in the past that were too long and it bugged the heck out of me. I had the issue of bags falling to the front when I wore them crossbody and I went to pick up my kids when they were tiny. Then the bag smacks the baby and knocks him or her to the ground.....ugh....that’s why I loved backpacks for such a long time.

I wear crossbody patagonia atom sling for cycling.
Sits close & higher on back. For safety & comfort.

Fashion handbags--usually hang at side, lower than or at hip.

If included strap causes bag to hang too high as crossbody, substitute valentino guitar strap.

Ok....that last picture of your dog is AWESOME. I love the bag and strap as well . How long is the guitar strap? I can’t tell if it is adjustable or not.

AND....don’t even get me started on trying to find the perfect sling. I always get self conscious thinking that I am dividing my body in half right through the girls. However, sling bags are the most comfortable bags to wear hiking and to amusement parks.

A Fossil bag  I've worn it so many times and got it on a discount that the cost per wear is probably under a dollar by now! I don't know the model number but it's a simple small black bag with bronze hardware and it says "Fossil Issue No. 1954) on the front.
Love it.....I have yet to get rid of a bag due to too much wear. I wish I had it in me to use a bag for a long time but I get bored and antsy and have to switch out at least once a month!! Nice that you have a bag you love so much.

Your bags are STUNNING! I totally agree with you. A bag can’t be too high or too low. It has to be just right. My problem is, I’m on the taller side of average so most of the time, the straps are made too short. I feel like bag designers cater more to the ladies who are 5’2 to 5’6. Being 2 inches taller than that makes a difference in the way a bag sits on me.

Thanks for the sweet compliment! Too-short straps are a pet peeve of mine. I don’t know if the Hermes Evelyne is your cup of tea, but if you like the style, you may want to try one on in the GM size. Because the GM is taller than the PM, I had to have the strap on mine shortened 8 inches! So maybe it will be the perfect length for you.

Strap is adjustable:
Dimensions: W5 x H111 cm/W2 x H43.7"
Hehehe--more concerned with dodging traffic than fashion on bike. So sling works.

Here are some really rough pictures. I had my nine-year old take these to give an idea of how I wear my bags. The first picture is the Monroe clutch from Arayla and the side picture is the Belen Echandia Enchant Me. The BE bag carries really low due to the shape of the bag and this is how I prefer to wear bags.

I wear mine like you and sometimes a little bit higher. I don't like it when bags are nearly on my thigh (it happens often, I'm 5'2). Coach mini sierra, MK cindy small dome's shortest is still too long for me. I end up getting additional holes on the strap. Oh, I also carry them in front of me or at the back. Rarely beside my hips (scared of color transfer, ruining the bag shape & sometimes it's annoying for stiffer bags).

Yes! Bags that are too long will hook under my butt too :giggle:

I'm 5'9 and I want the bag to fall just to near my hip (sort of like the first image you posted with the beige bag). I like to rest my hand on the top of a bag, right where the strap and the bag meet when worn crossbody. A bag will accentuate the area where it sits, so nearer to the waist/hip looks the most flattering and if it extends too far down to the butt/leg that's just awkward-looking. The straps on most bags are just too short for anyone over 5'8, so I've become more comfortable with the bag sitting slightly higher and I have taken measurements to the point I know my exact minimum needed to wear (20") and preferred length (22").
