How do you store your RMs?

I store mine unstuffed in their dust bags. I just kind of fold the bag so that the bottom is flat, slip into the dust bag, and lay the bag flat on a shelf. Both of my bags are soft/slouchy so they're wrinkled anyway!

I store mine stuffed too! I got this tip from a fellow tpf member. I stuff a huge ziplock bag with newspaper, seal it and use it to stuff my bag. That way, I don't need to remove several pieces of loose paper when I use them. I also place these little silica gel packs inside. As for storage, I used to keep them in these plastic cases underneath my bed, it had holes on all four sides. Now, I just keep them in their dust bag and upright in my closet - I can no longer fit them under my bed:p

OMG, this a GREAT idea!

I store mine stuffed with acid free tissue and those silica packets, in their dustbags- standing upright on the top shelf of my MB closet. I only have 3 RMs and a few non RMs so for now, this works. :shrugs: I LOVE Shyne's glass cases though! Brilliant!

Great thread, very helpful! I am currently stuffing all of my bags with clean newsprint, placing them in their dustbags, and then shelving them in canvas sweater bag holders than you can velcro to your closet rod. My regular closet is tiny (our townhouse is around 120 yrs. old) so I store them on the top floor, in the empty guest room closet. (Thankfully my SO doesn't go in there to observe the show...)

The bags I don't use much are also cleaned/conditioned and stored flat in their dust bags, in this really cute, sturdy bins that I found at the Container Store:

(Which happen to be on sale right now!):

These bins are numbered (I have two now) and then I keep an inventory of what's in them on my computer. Every season I rotate and switch things up, or more if I like.

Yes, I am a geek. And damn proud of it.

I am so glad there is a thread on this!!! It seems many of you store your bag stuffed. I have no problem stuffing them as I have easy access to all sorts of bubble packs. BUT I have a huge problem with storage. I lack them. I only buy BBags before this & even when I had 10 Bbags I store them flat in dust bags & stack them one on top of the other. I am thinking to store my RM the same way. Is it unwise? I seldom rotate my bags. I can use the same bag for a week or 2 or even 3.

So far, I keep most of my bags unstuffed (except for the ones I store on their feet/ or the ones that are structured) and in their dustbags with their silica gel packs (if possible).

I really hate the mess when I remove the tissue, haven't considered using air packs, might give them a try ;)

And, since I lack storage too , I keep my most expensive bags flat in their dustbags and stored one on top of the other (same as pinkboudoir) at the bottom of my closet with the heaviest of them at the base of the pile...

I need a walk in closet:crybaby:(yes, it's come to a point where I need one...)

Know what I would love? (Though I seriously don't have enough bags or shoes to warrant this, not even close): a climate controlled, walk-in, cedar-lined closet for my bags and shoes!!!

I store textiles in my structured bags including scarves and even fabric/knit totes with wallets/wristlets inside. They're kept their dustbags/pillowcases and upright on my closet shelf :)
