How do you store your bag?

I keep my bags stored in their dustbags, stuffed, and on shelves in my closet. My smaller crossbodies (except my Dinkys) are hung on a purse hanger or from a bar in my closet (unless they came with a dustbag and then they go on the shelf). Now that I have sold a lot of bags I have a lot more room and now able to keep better track of my inventory. :smile1:

I just took a couple of pics last week to show my mother how I built and added shoe shelves, and how I store my bags. So, I've collaged them together and squished out my winter shirts because no one wants to see some rando chick's shirts.

On the top shelf is my main rotation. I store them stuffed and upright, with handles always up. I don't want any smiley faces on my bags. On top of the shoe shelves (which is staged with only has part of my shoe collection so the pic looks nice lol), behind the shirts, I store my clutches, stacked side by side like the top shelf (and my non-horsey tall boots). The purple, pink, and orange nylon tote that looks like it's about to explode holds my slg's, stacked neatly and wrapped in individual dust bags (my outlet is awesome and gives me extra slg dustbags when I ask). The rest of my bags (mainly non-clutch special occasion and travelling bags) are in my other closet with my horse show clothes and other odds and ends. (The right side (not shown) has two rods, the top for my dresses and pants and skirts, and the bottom for my summer shirts.)

It looks great! What size shoe do you wear? I spy some really cute shoes, so I am coming over to borrow them. ;)

Aww, thank you. :blushing: Most are 9.5, some are 9 and some are 10; depends on the fit. Everyone loves the Betsey Johnson "Wish" heels in the top right spot; my cousin (carefully) borrowed them for an evening.

I'm currently using the handbag hanger below, just got it. I use it for the handbags I'm currently using.(not that I have large collection. I store the others and SLG's in baskets or fabric boxes and use the dust bags to line them.

So far I'm liking it a lot. I was a little concerned about the handbag straps getting indentations. I don't think it will be and issue, but I think I'm going to put some kind of foam on the hooks. I'm sure I have some I can re-purpose.
How do you prevent them from getting dusty? My one and only suede gucci bag is on the hanger and covered with dryclean plastic bag, but it has a chain strap so no worries about indentations.

I don't have any suede bags and I rotate them so much never really had a problem with dust and i hang them in the back of my closet. I also spray them with the rain repellent spray, so maybe that helps.

Ah, OK. I never store bags this way because of possible dust. May be I am wrong and there is no problem.

I think you might have meant to quote me, the answer is no, the plastic bubble wrap doesn't hurt the inside of the bags at all. I prefer the bubble wrap over paper for a specific reason, silverfish.

After Katrina I had what little stuff we had left packed in cardboard boxes and in our upstairs half story attic space. As supplies and stuff were brought in, so were more cardboard boxes. There are windows up there and plenty of ventilation, but that cardboard along with the dank wetness that was everywhere brought in the silver fish. I had to go all postal on them before we rebuilt. So now, I have an natural aversion to having unnecessary cardboard or wads of paper in my house than is absolutely necessary....so that is why I use bubble wrap and plastic before paper and cardboard.

Sorry about that. Yes, i meant to quote you. Silver fish, makes sense. I was "planning" to sew little pillows to make it as stuffing. But i don't know how can i get my way into that. Hehehe. Thinking also of using old clothes. But the bubble wrap seems to be the easiest way ... ;)

Dust isn't a real problem, leather can be dusted off quite easily....and that's not even necessary for bags you rotate in and out quite often. But I agree that dust would not just brush off the suede or a fabric bag like it does leather. I think keeping your suede bag under dry cleaning plastic is smart. :p

I've also used old towels and bed sheets to stuff them with, but I didn't have enough so I went to the bubble wrap.

You could use pillowcases to make pillows and only have to sew up one end. You could even use 'stuffing' found in the fabric aisles to use for the stuffing....it might be cheaper than bubble wrap. ;)
