How do you keep your bag's shape?

Yesterday it finally happened! I got my first Hermes call and I’m beyond excited! I wanted a Kelly for all my life and now I got offered one *yay* Only problem is, I always wanted a Sellier and the one I could have is a Retourne. I like the softer edges on the Retourne but I don’t like how especially older bags tend to loose their shape. Does someone of you guys use an organizer or a baseshaper for their Retourne? Will they help?
An well made organizer will help but if you always wanted a Sellier you should wait because both bags IMO are two totally different styles.

I just got myself a bag pillow for my Clemence B35 to help maintain its shape when in storage. I find myself always worrying about the airbags deflating etc, and I want to do everything possible to stave off the eventual slouch.

So I got myself this bag pillow from Etsy, and I have to say that I am so far impressed with it. It’s a perfect fit for the bag, and it’s helping keep it in good shape.

I know I'm in the minority but I prefer my bags slouchy so I only put something inside when I don't use them for long periods.

My Hermès SM once told me NOT to put the bag away with anything plastic inside ( the air cushions the bag comes with or bubble wrap or anything else made of plastic) since the leather has to breath. He also told me NOT to put the bag away lying down for long periods because it can warp in the long run. So I put my bags away standing up inside their dustbags and in the softer ones I put either an old shirt, or old bed sheets or anything else, as long as it's cotton.

My local artisan said the same thing: no plastic, not flat on its back, but that if the bag is laid down in its box the way they originally pack them (which is on a slight incline) that is ideal. And also not to put the lid on the box, again so the leather can breathe :)

Yes, that's probably the best way but who has enough storage space to keep all the boxes? Unless one has very few bags... I personally don't have the space and have too many bags:P
